I'll be 60 next month...I am not even close to being a senior citizen...have no intention allowing anyone to define where I should be or what I am capable of doing...I feel no older than I did in my 30's and do all the same things..I have been walking daily and lifting for 40 years..that's the key..

Decide how many years you will live and divide by 2.

I’m 57 and feeling kinda old. Not really physically, but socially and emotionally. It’s like everything that I thought was important in life has become not so important in the last decade.

Yeah I feel this way nowadays about some things. I used to love watching the Men’s basketball tourney and I’d follow the brackets and looked forward to the matchups, but now, I’m not real interested. I focus on my career, my family. My sons are into all that, they keep me informed.

35 is what I always considered because 70 is senior.

This. I’m 40+ but young in my career and thanks to the gym, in the best shape of my life. I have a toddler and have way more energy than her and I look better than I did when I was 30.

It probably also depends on your phase in life. I'm 46 and my youngest kid is 17. I certainly feel middle aged.

Damn you Roger!

PS: I think I have a work (cough, cough) trip to Sitka coming up this Summer.

Any recommendations of things to see or do there in Summer there are welcomed short of wrestling a large mammal.

Yeah, love that place. Its what locals say Juneau was like 40 years ago.

If you like history, lots of stuff. Starrigavin area, (Russian Tlingit battle site) and all the old Russian influence in downtown is really cool

If you hike, Mt Verstovia or Harbor Mountain are friends. Right behind downtown.

Fishing is fantastic, the Fairweather grounds are just offshore. Mt Edgecumb is a volcano, recent rising dome activity.

Kayaking is world class, its on the outer coast so it gets rollers but there are hundreds of islands in the Sound to break it up.

If you have time, take a plane across the island to Baranoff Hot Springs. If the weather cooperates. Theres a cross island trail but it takes a couple days due to icefields.

Bears, salmon, eagles and whales. You can see whales from shore often.

Great town, theres a nice pub overlooking the harbor, Ludvigs has good food. The old church downtown is gorgeous.

Its a very unique place, I love it there. It rains a lot though. The Sitka airport can be a clenching experience. No room for error

Western Roman Empire. The Roman Empire survived in the East for another thousand years.

I can’t take credit for it, baw. The late great Toby Keith can, though, and hearing it for the first time made me think long and hard.
