...or understood. I'm not saying these particular people don't have talent. I just don't understand their popularity and/or mass following. I'll start
U2
The Talking Heads
Prince
George Michael
Madonna
Any rap/hip hop act
I'm sure I'll add more but this is a good start.

Alice in Chains
Radiohead
I love so much music from whatever genre you place these in, but I mostly can't get over the singing.

To fully understand and appreciate where you’re coming from I would need to see a list of the groups you did/do “get”.

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. I have never understood the critical & fan obsession over them. I just don't get it.

The Grateful Dead. They're not terrible - I like a few of their songs - but they're just so, so, milquetoast for a band that is supposed to be the ultimate psychedelic rock experience.
The Clash. They're not terrible - "Train in Vain" is an ok song - but they're just so, so milquetoast for a band that is supposed to be one of the most important punk groups of all time. Are they even punk? Maybe I need to listen to some of their early stuff but their hits are about as "punk" as Tom Jones.
Pearl Jam. I like a song or two here and there, but mostly I do not care for their output.

You had me until Megadeth. Lol. I can understand the dislike many, maybe you too?, have for Dave’s voice, but the music is so strong, his voice squares into that brutal style very well. There’s just so much amazing musicianship (esp with Marty) that for me they are right up there with the best hard rock bands.
