Wait, do we really have grown adults saying the President of the United States can deploy NG troops at will? Do they not teach civics in high school anymore?

Militarization of The Capitol would have been used by Democrats as evidence of an attempted Trump coup d'etat. He knew it and they knew it.

In DC , in particular areas of DC which are expressly federal, the President through the Secretary of Defense has total power to call in the National Guard. Check out EO 10030(?) In 1949 that had Truman delegating oo SecDef.

So yeah, I'm wrong in that Trump can call for it unilaterally but since SecDef works for him the Executive Branch has control of this call. Bowser cannot veto it. Pelosi does not have any say. So did Trump ask his boy at Defense to call up the guard and if not, why not?

Pelosi absolutely does have a say. She can allow ng on THE CAPITAL GROUNDS or in the CAPITAL or she can reject it. Why would Trump ask "his boy at defense" to call up the guard when Pelosi and Bowser turned them down? Going for the tri-fecta of ignorance on this one kiwi.

So let me understand your position. Trump, as proven in this thread, offered the National Guard to Pelosi and the DC mayor. They refused. Your contention is that they are in the clear, but Trump’s failure to override their refusal and “call his boy” in the defense department was a dereliction of duty? Am I summarizing your point correctly?

Show me where Pelosi has that power. Bowser has no say about deployments on Federal zones like the Capitol and the White house areas including the Ellipse and the memorials.

Trump did not need Pelosi's permission to deploy at the Capitol....maybe to enter, but at the Capitol and on the grounds surrounding it.....no. This is a bullshite argument.

Where does she have that power because even her office says that it has no say in deploying the National Guard on federal grounds like the Capitol. Site me the law.....I cited thed EO that shows where the President delegates the authority to SecDef. Show me where it says Pelosi could have prevented deployment if Trump wanted to deploy the National Guard on Federal grounds.

He did not need to. The Capitol and areas around it are federal grounds as such Bowser had NO say and deployments of troops are the purview solely of the Executive Branch. So ole Nance was not in a position to approve or not approve. Her opinion on the matter would have been essentially like anyone on this board.

Then, yes offering up to Bowser and Pelosi and them saying no and him saying " mmmmmmOK" is a dereliction of duty. If he thought there was a real need he could have acted unilaterally in the Federal zones.

She didn't prevent it or stop it. Trump didn't want the NG there. Leading up to the election it was all talk of Trump not transitioning peacefully if not elected. He calls the NG and he looks like a dictator. Instead to put everyone at ease he gave the OPTIONto Nancy and Bowser to increase capitol protection through the NG. There was an offer and it was declined. The whole argument of him telling Nancy to frick off and accept the troops is ignorant

Holy shite. I just read through this entire thread. What the frick is the matter with these people?

As a point of concrete fact. You're correct in everything you've asserted. Man this board is fricking weird as shite sometimes.

Why does this board hate you so much?
