New study is claiming intermittent fasting may actually be bad long term. Lots of question marks out there still as it is yet to be peered reviewed.

Per usual, this study will be riddled with questionable methods. One obvious limitation is that those on some kind of diet are those who need to lose weight. If you dont control for weight and demographics, what is the point?

It’s a study based on calling people and asking them about their diet lol. It’s cooralation at best…wouldn’t even call it that

To top it off,it looks to have been done by a Chinese university…don’t ever trust any fricking thing that any university from china puts out concerning diet. All propaganda from their government

It does look like they determined egg rolls to be healthy though. So at least something good out of it.

I'm open to there being some new info that will change my view on this topic, but am just casually assuming that any AHA stuff will be horribly unreliable - if not outright intentionally misleading.

Was this the same association that said you need to eat cheerios everyday and before that don't eat fat?

It seems counterintuitive. Our caveman bodies were designed to adapt to having to fast. Why would it increase coronary risk?

The study’s limitations included its reliance on self-reported dietary information, which may be affected by participant’s memory or recall and may not accurately assess typical eating patterns. Factors that may also play a role in health, outside of daily duration of eating and cause of death, were not included in the analysis.

Then the study is bullshite. If you can’t set the controls, then how can you claim it was the 8 hour feeding window? Anything to get your named published, I guess.

Yeah and these same aholes said the best food in the world for you (eggs) was bad for you. They say that red meat is bad for you. These studies are done by people with an agenda.

Eat food that you can look at and know what it is. Banana = good. meat = good, bread = bad etc etc.

This is not a study and is highly dubious at best. Read the fine print of how it was conducted.

Also, common fricking sense will dictate that simply fasting for specified periods of time should likely not affect cardiovascular risk. Some things I just don’t need any study or doctor to think for myself and realize how unlikely that sounds.
