Comparing Matt McMahon's first two years SEC record to the other conference head coaches

Matt McMahon inherited a decimated program with all eligible players entered in the transfer portal. After cobbling together a roster and enduring rocky first year he has righted the ship and the Tigers finished in the top half of the most competitive conference in the country. Lets compare the first two year's SEC records of the current conference coaches to McMahon's record. Not a single coach inherited the same moribund situation that McMahon faced. He has the program headed in the right direction and next season may be the breakthrough year the fans are awaiting.
Chris Beard is in his first year in the league and Buzz Williams first season was cut short by COVID..
Matt Mcmahon LSU 11-25
Rick Barnes TENN 14-22
Bruce Pearl AUB 9-27
Nate Oats BAMA 24-12
Dennis Gates MIZZ 11-25
Chris Jans State 16-20
Mike White Georgia 12-24
Buzz Williams A&M 12-16
Chris Beard Ole Miss 7-11
Todd Golden FLA 20-16
Lamont Paris SC 17-19
Jerry Stackhouse VAN 6-28
Eric Musselman ARK 20-16
John Calipari KENT 24-8

The third year will be really telling but going from 2-16 in SEC play to 9-9 is dramatic improvement. Hopefully they hit the portal good in addition to the incoming freshmen and returning players

Seeing where Barnes & Pearl started from is encouraging

Yea I'm pretty confident he is better than buzz/stackhouse/Mike white. Who else in that list would you rather have CMM for sure over? Maybe Gates?

I think most people think he is doing ok. As long as he keeps progressing. Make an NCAA tourney next year.

How many of those coaches had possible sanctions against the team hanging over their head and a depleted team?

if he can retain guys like trey ward and jared reed then that will go a long way in having a successful Year 3

Gates managed to go 0-18 to get to his record lol

MM showed improvement this year, I think most of us can agree on that.
Now it’s time to show what he’s got. It’s NCAA Tourney or bust next year as far as I’m conferenced. Idk why so many take issue with that, it should not take 5 years to rebuild a program to the point of least earning a low seed.

Why does it seem like McMahon is disliked as a coach? Why are most things posted that are positive downvoted?
