What Album influenced your taste in music more than any other

I saw The Cure in 1987 on Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me Tour.
Then shortly after that Disintegration came out in 1989.
Music has always been very important to me. Always felt like a part of my identity in a way and The Cure is the reason.

My taste is wide ranging and has gone through different phases over the years. As a kid, Pink Floyd's The Wall was a major influence for classic as well as prog rock. Motley Crew "Shout at the Devil" set up my metal journey. Then Ministry's "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up" turned me on to the industrial scene. In my adult life, My Morning Jacket's "Okonokos" opened me up to an entire new world of music that I had always liked but sort of ignored. I've been listening to old school country as a result. That one is a weird one, because they aren't necessarily country; however, there are a lot of country elements to them that brought me to revisit that genre. Now I love it.

Grand Funk Railroad (Live Album) or Black Sabbath (Paranoid). Both played a large role in what I listen to moving forward.

I would say Boston & Physical Graffiti. Older brother blaring Long Time and Kashmir thru the bedroom walls around ‘75 or so was a stepping stone to the late 70’s rock and heavy metal that I’ve listened to ever since.

The Clash - London Calling. I was only 10 when it came out but i'd never heard anything like it. It was my introduction to punk and reggae and opened my ears to so many new artists.

It opened up a whole new world of music that I never knew existed. I discovered it in 2004. Before that, I had mainly liked alternative / hard rock and acoustic stuff.

This is a tough question, but I'll have to point to Dinosaur Jr. - You're Living All Over Me
It was a huge eye opener and because it combined so much of what I love. about music, I give it the nod... noise/guitar/pop/lo-fi/indie/hardcore/etc... I never knew music like this existed...

Wish You Were Here. I had it on one side of a SA-90 cassette and would rewind it once it was over and start it over again. it completely changed my view on music.

In 90 (college) I dated a tennis player from England, Blackpool and she had The Stone Roses on tape. That led me into the world of British bands, Eletronic, Smiths, cure, joy division and on and on.
before that was 80's metal from my cousin and brother and RAP!!
