They should just leave all six flags at half mast.

I believe I’ve stumbled upon the Six Flag brawl that lead to gunfire…

It's not a spoiler when every sensible person already knows the plot.

These theme parks need to do away with the Season Pass. Latchkey parents just use it as a cheap babysitter and "youths" use it as a more interesting and safer place to go engage in mischief and crime. Like 99% of the problem visitors are just roaming around there every day on a cheap season pass. Cut them out of the equation and a lot more suburban families with disposable income will show up
When these parks sell season passes, they make their money on concessions and other in-park sales. A lot of people who buy season passes will also buy cokes and snacks and ice cream etc in the parks.
However, also, like you said, a lot of people probably drop off their kids all day with absolutely no money for drinks or water or snacks and those kids run wild.
If they are only going to sell one-day tickets, I bet park attendance will be WAY down and while that might be safer, their in-park revenue is going to suffer significantly.
Maybe they shoudn't allow anyone under the age of "insert age here" through the turnstyles without an adult present.

One day is $40. Season pass is $50.
Looks like online one day is $40 and cheapest season pass is $70.
That's really cheap honestly, considering it's an amusement park and a water park.
Gulf Islands Water Park is $48 for a single day and $60 discounted price for season pass (that's a sale price, I think regular price is like $70)
So basically Six Flags Park and Water Park is cheaper or same price as Gulf Islands Water Park.
I've never felt unsafe or unsafe dropping off my kids at Gulf Islands.

The city proper has been greatly gentrified the last 20 years.
I live in the area. Riddle me this, if Atlanta is so gentrified, who runs it? It’s not the privileged folks.

This is why Astroworld was closed for good. Too many malcontents stirring up trouble.

Wasn't it also because they made the price of season tickets so low?
Season tickets ended up costing less than summer camps and parents would just dropoff their little troublemaker kids daily with no money for food or anything.

A combination of the Cascade Road Crew (upper middle class blacks) and Buckhead Boys (upper class whites).

FWIW buckhead is turning into a crime riddled pile of shite. It’s not near the place it once was

That literally looked like it was taking place on the African continent

This is a true statement.

Honestly couldn’t imagine paying buckhead prices for everything and still having to worry about crime.
Lennox went from a premier mall to a spot so bad it has to have constant police presence.
I mess with my buckhead friends all the time they pay the same as me but get 1/3 of the house and have to worry about shite being stolen. They can walk to the latte shop or bar though.

Went to a private day (Atlanta Area Credit Unions) at six flags with my kids about 8 years ago, it was very fun. Great park if you like coasters. I would not go on a day where the general public was allowed.
Now, we used to go for my birthday all the time, went on a field trip, been with church groups. I always liked that six flags. That was 20+ years ago.

Buckhead died when Ray Lewis murdered that guy.

You're half joking but this is pretty much right.

The Ray Lewis incident (along with the rollback of last call in the city to 2:30) was the final straw used to shut down the Buckhead Village party district. Most of the old money hated having the Peachtree/West Paces/Roswell area gridlocked every weekend and wasn't sad to see it go.
Fun fact, Lewis didn't actually kill the guy, he just helped to cover it up (and got slapped with an obstruction of justice charge).

It is and has been for 50 years. The only difference now compared to when Maynard Jackson was mayor is that the black population share of Atlanta has virtually collapsed since Y2K.
