Why do they keep stereotyping us?!?!?!

And so today they reveal the “victim” was also shot in drive by LAST MONTH.
They can’t get out of their own way. I sure hope this kid continues on his path to becoming a doctor or engineer, as I am sure his momma will tell us he was goin’ to do…

Why no mention of race in the article?

The only difference now compared to when Maynard Jackson was mayor is that the black population share of Atlanta has virtually collapsed since Y2K.
It's amazing what has happened in just 20 years w/the in-city population. My dad(RIP) worked at Coke World HQ for 8 years in the 90's and he had to drive through Techwood Homes every day. The worst he encountered were some vagrants trying to wash his windshield or begging for liquor money but he was always carrying in his console. People under 30 have no idea that that housing development ever existed.
quote:
I've seen projections that if current trends continue puts the black population of the city between 28% and 32% by 2030. Staggering to think about considering in 1990 it was 70%. 1996 Olympics changed everything.
That's insane.
Careful. That's gonna go against the narrative that Atlanta is a "chocolate" city and those on here that think we're full of shite when you, myself and others have said that the demographics inside the city have changed.

No go back across the river onto Fulton Industrial and you might find some interesting stories to tell

That area was doomed when the City of Atlanta was blocked from annexing the corridor decades ago, and the combo of unincorporated Fulton County and (later) the city of South Fulton treating it like a red-headed stepchild (except for industrial tax revenue) is why the corridor is what it is
I try to avoid the Fulton Industrial Corridor as much as possible.

Can’t believe you blamed this on 6 Flags
If it came off that way, that wasn't my intent.
But like Wally said above, Six Flags has been attracting that element for a while and it's not their fault but the optics are bad.

You literally said ‘six flags needs to clean up its act’
No comments on the black community
No comments about black on black violence
No comments on glorifying this thug culture that’s plaguing the young black kids in America
No comments on any of that
Your initial reaction was ‘6 Flags needs to get their act together’
What a frickin clown

No it hasn’t.
I go to six flags Georgia all the time and have never once felt threatened, felt unsafe, etc.
This is the 2nd year in a row this has happened at Six Flags Georgia opening day - they will make adjustments and it will be safe again for the entire season.

Dude, I'm trying to do a mea culpa here and admit I was wrong and you wanna name call?
We all know that a certain part of the black community needs to get their act together and that the non-ghetto blacks need to call them out and hold them responsible for real change to happen. I admitted in my last pair that I was wrong. No need to be a dick. If you can't do that, then GFY.

I worked for a home improvement supplier there during college, and that corridor is pretty much a dump (especially near I-20). Lot of run down strip clubs there as well, and they exist because they’re open later than everywhere else.

Looks like online one day is $40 and cheapest season pass is $70.
Passes go on sale all the time, I think on average we paid $35-50 for passes over the years. They didn’t even charge 2020 passholders for 2021 and the 2022 renewal was dirt cheap.

Because the mainstream media operates as the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party and pointing out that it was blacks responsible for this fracas doesn’t align with the party narrative.

BTW, I’m not sure how many pages back it is now, but I posted a link to a video on X showing the fight that caused the shooting. If you don’t feel like scrolling back, I’ll save you the time and effort and just confirm you already know who it was.

Why did they run out all the black people? Where are they to go now that they are priced out of their areas?
In the 1990s a lot of black people moved from Atlanta to near-suburb subdivisions that were built in the 1950s and 60s in DeKalb County.
The housing crisis in 2008 hit those areas hard, leading to a lot of abandoned and distressed single-family homes. These are fodder for renovation and resale (or, sadly, rental) and this process is still ongoing.
This redevelopment is basically spreading from incorporated Decatur southward. There's a lot of mess to be cleaned up still. I don't know where the blacks will go, if it comes to that, but they're welcome to go move in next to all the Mexicans in Gwinnett County IMO.
