At this downtown Lafayette bar, the windows are blacked out and you'll need a code to get in

The passcode and blacked out windows are security measures, the speakeasy theme came later….

Will likely be great until the Columbia / trucker hat crowd show up.

is it still thriving like it was 20 years ago?

Amanda Scott’s, Stan’s, Antlers, Roothogs, Club 410, Jefferson St pub were all great places and always busy.

I met the owners during Mardi Gras a few weeks ago. Good people.

I hope it does well, and I think it can

Most importantly though, is that Legacy is gone.

The speaking may be easy in Lafayette but the understanding isn't.

If you’re doing advertising, and people are talking about it on the internet… its not a real speakeasy.

Hey everyone, come to my secret bar!

The whole idea is cringe af.

If it’s on Jefferson street they’re probably doing that to try and keep the local “Rhodes scholars” (aka literal ghetto hood rats) out and I don’t blame them one bit. Those savages ruin everything in that area.

ETA: those savages ruin everything everywhere.

Does any place embrace 20 year old fads more than Lafayette?
