The Eagles. The Beatles are not really my thing but I see why people revere them. The Eagles are just hippie druggie garbage.

I listened to the Tom Petty/Jeff Lynne/Prince version of while my guitar gently weeps today in honor of George. Crazy how two of them are gone now too.

One of my favorite. Prince smoked that shite.

I read somewhere that Harrison was actually the most successful Beatle after their breakup.

Would that be correct?

Can't stand them. The Beatles don't even break into my top 5 British bands.

All that said, A LOT of people really like them. Calling them overrated is a stretch. The songwriting was great, just not a fan of the music. Eleanor Rigsby and While my Guitar Gently Weeps are my exceptions.

People who say The Beatles and Nirvana were overrated and are actually being serious

I think the Beatles wrote some great stuff. My problem with them is that they were so popular even their shite gets played relentlessly - like Yellow Submarine.

What made you decide you should google celebrity birthdays everyday and bring them to TD.com? That level of dork is hard for me to fathom..

By every measurable cumulative metric (post Beatles careers), McCartney is clearly ahead of all the others.

Arguably McCartney has done more post-Beatles than the other three combined did post-Beatles.

Obviously John only had 10 years post Beatles and spent a large portion of that time not working on music.

And George has been dead now for over 22 years and he didn’t tour or produce solo music faster than Paul after the first couple of post-breakup years.

And then there’s Ringo….

It might also extend to net worth, Paul is the only one* whose wealth exceeds one billion dollars.

*or their estate’s for the dead ones.

George did not come close to Paul’s post Beatles success. Some people may prefer him but to say he was more successful totally ignores facts. Paul in the Guinness book as the most successful singer songwriter in history

I would think it's Paul McCartney but I don't know that for sure

I’d argue that by the time the Beatles split in ‘70, he was writing better stuff than both of them. “All Things Must Pass” is widely considered the best solo Beatles album, and it’s 2 LPs (+ a 3rd of live stuff) full of incredible songs that L & M wouldn’t allow on Beatles albums.

Paul was. Between his solo and Wings stuff he had the most success.

Don't say that too loud, the music snobs/edgy guys will take offense.

But Paul is arguably the greatest songwriter that's ever lived.

Probably because I'm a huge Beatles fan. Ever thought of that, smartass?

And I'll take bring called a Beatles dork as a badge of honor.

And FWIW, I'll always remember Paul's birthday b/c my daughter shares it with him(June 18th) and Lennon's birthday (October 9th)b/c that is my anniversary. And before you ask I did not plan that.

Paul was most successful and John was the least. George and Ringo were 2 and 3.

George did get sued for She’s so Fine but that doesn’t mean he stole it. There are a lot of similar songs in music where the current artist had never heard the original.
