Gone too soon. He was never the writer that L/M were, but when he hit, he hit. He wrote arguably the two most popular songs of their entire catalog (Here Comes The Sun and Something) and the latter is the greatest love song ever written. All Things Must Pass is a great album. My Sweet Lord is a favorite of mine.

He never got the credit that he deserved, from fans and his band mates. Happy birthday to the Quiet Beatle. RIP

Something

My Sweet Lord

What Is Life

All Those Years Ago

Here Comes The Sun

The Taxman

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

By 1969 George Harrison was the best songwriter in the Beatles and that was a big reason why they broke up.

Paul got tired of John’s heroin addiction. John got tired of Paul’s overbearingness. And they both got tired of George becoming such a good songwriter making them have to compete for less album space. John for one left because by the time they got to their last album, Abbey Road, George had the two best songs on the album, Something and Here Comes the Sun, and John knew the jig was up in regards to album space. And then George went on to solidify his spot as the best songwriter at the time releasing All Things Must Pass right away.

I listened to the Tom Petty/Jeff Lynne/Prince version of while my guitar gently weeps today in honor of George. Crazy how two of them are gone now too.

None. Because they are The Standard.

Thanks for being edgy. So brave.

Hell Paul had essentially been running the band since 1967 as it was.

He was stabbed 40 times. Crazy he even survived that with cancer. He made it a little less than two years after that.

People who say The Beatles and Nirvana were overrated and are actually being serious have to be SPED.

Not caring for their music is one thing. Saying their body of work is overrated is such a braindead and retarded take

As cringe as saying shite like Michaengelo and Beethoven/Mozart are “overrated”

Olivia saved his life. Beat the attacker w/a lamp.

One stab wound just missed his heart.

Then he dies 2 years later.

It’s just people who hate the world because they have to go home to their big fat pigs of wives at night.

Exactly. You don't have to like their music, that's fine.

But to call them overrated is just plain stupidity if not outright mentally retarded.
