My concern is that criminals carry firearms concealed and if they get caught, it’s a crime, and the gun is taken away.

With this change, there is no crime and the gun can’t get taken away.

How does that improve crime?

Same thing applies. If a “criminal” gets caught now, its still a crime.

Criminal is the key word.

It will still be a crime to carry a concealed weapon if you're a criminal.....that doesnt change.

I don’t know the law, but I assume it will still be taken away if you are caught breaking the law.

The difference now will be, the act of carrying will not be illegal.
It will be illegal to carry while doing illegal activities.

Wrong! There’s some that don’t support it but for the wrong reasons and those are the ones that were the edwards bootlickers. Their cash cow and corruption are thrown out the window now.

Criminals already cannot carry guns. They just do it anyway. They still wouldn't legally be able to, but they will anyway.

This only affects people who care what the law is, who happen to be the people who are affected by anti-gun stuff.

No it isn’t

Criminal isn’t a criminal unless commiting a criminal act.
You can be a criminal with no record…. Yet

If you havent been convicted of a crime, you're not a criminal.

Innocent until proven guilty......remember the constitution?

Having a firearm while committing a crime is an additional charge.

Therefore, the criminal who committed a crime while armed would receive an additional charge for their firearm.

Well… uh….. bud…… if it’s concealed… how would the “yokel” see it?

As of right now, you can open carry. In which case, why would a yokel tell an obviously armed man something that could be conceived as trying to start an argument?

Yep. Sometimes I concealment carry. Sometimes I wear a molle belt with a molle leg rig for my 10mm. Just depends on where I'm going and what I'm doing.

And no one in southern Oklahoma thinks twice about it.

Just about every state in the South already has this but Louisiana. If only we had some examples to look at as to what impact this might have on the state

Good luck. The BLOOMBERG School of Health has studies that say we are all going to die now. The Gun Owners of America have studies that say this will help stop crime.

Remember when scientists and journalists tried to put out unbiased data? Not any more.

Thirdly,

YOU MUST BRING YOUR SHELL TO THE LOCAL PD OR SHERIFF FOR BALESTICS AND THEN ITS REGISTERED WITH THE DOS&C.
What is this lunatic talking about?

What an uninformed and ignorant fool.

Guessing you skipped Engrish class.

That incoherent shite you posted is completely false. The only firearms in La that are registered are NFA items like suppressors and machine guns.

I actually doubt that I’ll start carrying even with this passing, but it’s nice to know I can. And the government shouldn’t deny me the same privileges as criminals.
Exactly.

And BTW for anyone looking for a nice concealed carry pistol, I bought a Ruger LCP Max which is a semi-auto .380 caliber pistol that holds 10 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber for a total of 11 rounds in a very small handgun. It fits easily into the front pocket of jeans, pants or shorts and is not noticeable in the factory included soft pocket holster. I prefer carrying it in my front pockets instead of a waistband holster.

This is the pocket holster that came with the gun.

From a common sense perspective, there is absolute value in making sure someone can operate a handgun esp if carrying in public.

I have been through the initial CCW class and 2 renewals. It’s a joke as far as gun skills. I can guarantee you my 13 yr old daughter has better gun skills than some of the people in these classes. I’m not saying I don’t want people to CCW but the classes are useless and a money grab. If they kept data on how many have not been certified (they don’t) I bet it’s close to 0%. My last instructor bragged about getting a legally blind man certified.

The best advice I could give a person that wants to CCW is practice practice practice. Practice drawing an empty gun from your holster at home. Shoot regularly and be familiar with your firearm.

The time you need it is going to be a high stress situation. Going to a range and punching paper is fine. Training for high stress encounters is better.

This bill will allow all citizens who can legally own a firearm to carry a concealed firearm.

If a convicted felon who cannot legally own a firearm is caught carrying a concealed firearm, they should be arrested and charged just as they are now. This does not change the laws regarding who can legally possess a firearm. Illegal immigrants cannot legally possess firearms either.
