I'd expect little to no change in violence although at least if you want to protect yourself you don't need permission from the government to do so.

Idaho is one of the most heavily armed states per capita in this country, with constitutional carry.

Gun violence is almost unheard of here. Wonder what the difference is?

I've said it countless times on here. Criminals by definition do not care about the law.

Imagine being such a vag that you don't like the idea of being able to legally carry a pistol.

The criminals can do it. They don't care what the law is. Only the people who follow the law are affected. They care about the law enough to not carry a gun because it's illegal, but they will now start doing illegal things with the gun?

The only argument against this is guns are bad mmmkay. Everything else is a piss poor attempt to mask that shitty opinion.

The right to bear arms is a constitutional right and in the text of the second amendment you will not find text related to the requirement of proficiency for qualification to bear arms. Much different from driving a car and that is a very poor comparison. I won’t argue that it is beyond wise to be proficient at handling and firing a pistol/rifle but the lack of that knowledge cannot supersede a constitutional right.

It was one class.

Not that I’d discourage it for a first time firearms owner. It’s a good introduction. But let’s not pretend that one class makes all that much difference in terms of “basic proficiency”.
