How do you explain that crime has dropped in Ohio since they passed constitutional carry?

Or that the people who follow the laws mostly don't shoot people

The people shooting up our cities already don't give a shite what's legal.

I'd expect little to no change in violence although at least if you want to protect yourself you don't need permission from the government to do so.

Nice canned talking points that you cut and pasted from another site. Your ignorance of this law, the current law, current guns laws and the reasons and results if it were to pass, are beyond comprehension.

Book all the prior folks who said the CCW law would turn the US in to the Wild West. Never happened.

Idaho is one of the most heavily armed states per capita in this country, with constitutional carry.

Gun violence is almost unheard of here. Wonder what the difference is?

And he's apparently a bleeding vagina who can't take the heat for people disagreeing with his ignorant statements.

How can you concealed carry a pistol at 18 but can’t purchase one until your 21… doesn’t make any sense.

Carry your grand daddy’s pistol.

You don't need a concealed carry permit to carry concealed.

0.9% of the total population of Idaho. That's pretty much it.

What’s a “combat infantry MOS”?
11B, 0311, etc. basically someone whose job was to operate some form of weaponry. Not your line cooks, quartermasters, paper pushers.

For example, what happen when a young black male with dreadlocks is carrying his CC weapon in the holster in public and an good samartin mistakes him for a criminal and shoots and kills the kid by mistake? How will this be justifiable now? He has CC rights. Who’s right who’s wrong?

Holy shitballs Batman!!!

You realize it’s illegal to simply shoot someone just because you can see they have a gun, right?
Even if they’re carrying illegally, you can’t simply shoot someone.

This law will not affect thugs one bit.
Thugs already carry without a permit. They don’t GAF!

Often fully automatic at that.

I've said it countless times on here. Criminals by definition do not care about the law.

Imagine being such a vag that you don't like the idea of being able to legally carry a pistol.

The criminals can do it. They don't care what the law is. Only the people who follow the law are affected. They care about the law enough to not carry a gun because it's illegal, but they will now start doing illegal things with the gun?

The only argument against this is guns are bad mmmkay. Everything else is a piss poor attempt to mask that shitty opinion.

I actually doubt that I’ll start carrying even with this passing, but it’s nice to know I can. And the government shouldn’t deny me the same privileges as criminals.

The problem with constitutional carry is there's no way of knowing how proficient the gun owner may be. There's two general ends of the spectrum. First time owning a gun? Take lessons from a firearms expert, learn how it operates, and learn that pulling a gun can be in most cases a last resort. Think before you engage. Former military with a combat infantry MOS and combat experience? I trust them not to accidentally blow my head off during a chaotic event. With CCP's we had a way to ensure the holder had basic proficiency. Constitutional carry eliminates that. You need a license to drive a car and demonstrate proficiency. It should be the same for a dangerous weapon capable of ending life, deliberately or accidentally. Like a car.

The right to bear arms is a constitutional right and in the text of the second amendment you will not find text related to the requirement of proficiency for qualification to bear arms. Much different from driving a car and that is a very poor comparison. I won’t argue that it is beyond wise to be proficient at handling and firing a pistol/rifle but the lack of that knowledge cannot supersede a constitutional right.

No, it’s a very idiotic argument. Driving a car isn’t a constitutional right

It was one class.

Not that I’d discourage it for a first time firearms owner. It’s a good introduction. But let’s not pretend that one class makes all that much difference in terms of “basic proficiency”.
