Nighthawks

Although it came out in 1981, I still consider it the last great 70s movie.

Stallone (with long hair, a cool beard and aviator glasses) and Billy Dee Williams as NY undercover street cops. Rutger Hauer as an international terrorist on the run who makes it to the Big Apple.

Awesome stuff

I threw this out in a thread about 80-90s comedies the other day and I’ll just repeat it here -

I’m going with Oscar from 1991 with Sylvester Stallone. It was directed by John Landis. The casting is excellent with veterans like Kirk Douglas, Don Amiche, Yvonne De Carlo; great “character” actors like Kirkwood Smith, Art Lafleur, Tim Curry, Chaz Palminteri, Peter Riegert and William
Atherton; not to mention Marissa Tomei, Linda Gray and Ornella Muti.

It’s a screwball comedy which was certainly against type for Stallone. I saw
It in the theater back in the day and thought it was great then. It’s held up extremely well.
