The profile of the mouth breather reminds me of this:

Has anyone tried mouth taping while sleeping?

Read the book “Breath” by James Nestor. It’s fascinating.

I could only breathe through my mouth as a kid. Then I got sinus surgery in early high school and it changed my entire life. Sleep is so much more restful ever since.

Both of those examples are better looking and in better shape than 80% of this site's posters.

We definitely used this term in the 80s as an insult.

I'm a nose breather. My wife must be reading that Breath book because she's been telling me all about this stuff. Some of it has been known a long time, like the impact on bad breath and cavities.

The mouth breathing is the result of a structural issue, in many cases it’s a tongue tie preventing normal skeletal growth, but it could be the result of a broken nose too. Orthodontics and tooth extraction, and that includes wisdom tooth extraction, contribute to the problem. Diet could play a role too.

That graphic looks like a cut and paste from a Third Reich poster

It’s crazy how breathing through your mouth makes you go bald

I got very sick after New Years as one does after a holiday season of being in close proximity to a ton of people and I was eating dinner one night and this had never happened ever to me before but my non clogged nostril clogged to match the other one. I had to alternate chewing and mouth breathing and it was hell on earth. So I don’t know how mouth breathers do it tbh

My jawline is so amazing doctors actually recommended breathing through my mouth to soften it up a little bit.

Yes, facial structure/definition has everything to do with breathing and zero to do with genetics.

I once had surgery to repair a deviated septum...my nose was blocked up with gauze. I went 72 hours without falling asleep because I was unable to fall asleep breathing only through my mouth. I started hallucinating and almost had a heart attack(at ~20 years old). They had to take the splints and gauze out early needless to say.
