They're never worth it.

Depends.
It’s paying for peace of mind.
If you put 100$ a month into an account In anticipation of issues, you will get the same effect of having a safety net and you keep your money in the process.

I don’t know if it’s worth it or not that’s kind of a gamble but I got one online for $900 when the dealership wanted $2300. So maybe look around. It was from another dealer that makes their money selling online warranties I guess.

This . . . I had to have a couple electrical panels replaced multiple times and the sunroof fixed in a 3 year period for my F150.

I know that's what I get for buying a Ford!

I bought one for my Sequoia (vehicle before the F150) and never used it.

Can be worth it They also negotiate the price. Consider what you would pay if the infotainment screen goes out and get 100,000 mile warranty paying that one item.

Then it can be worth it.

What does it cover? Power strain and suspension? Probably not

All the electronics (sensors, wiring, mother boards, touch screens)? Depends on the expense.

Don't Tundras have really good reliability ratings? I wouldn't bother. But like another poster said, people will attach a different price value to peace of mind.

I’ve been roasted many times in this life, but never for putting the $ behind the number.

But whatever bro.

My 2023 Tundra came with a lifetime powertrain warranty. So I passed on any extended warranty plus Toyota is so reliable why piss the money away.

Where did you buy your Tundra? Haggling between dealerships is tiring.

Are they worth it on a new Tundra truck?

They are absolutely worth it.

To the people who sell extended warranties. Because there’s a sucker looking for “peace of mind” born every minute.

Like any insurance, they’re “worth it” if you have to use them, but not if you don’t. Not being a smartass, it’s just a gamble. With the over engineered vehicles of today, it doesn’t take much to make it worthwhile.

Yep. My 2022 Duramax has 55k miles and it’s already needing door locks, transmission valve, and coolant thermostat

All covered under my extended warranty

Not to mention they pay for my rental car

Btw my Extended warranty is for 100k miles or 8 years

Most people lose money on these warranties. If you get one, make sure to get the best warranty they offer. Look at the list of "covered parts", because they absolutely will not cover anything that isn't on that list. Most don't cover seals and gaskets, which can be costly to replace, so make sure they're covered. Do not forget to mention the warranty every time you bring it to the shop, because they will not cover a repair that is performed before they're notified. Lastly, be aware that none of the extended warranties require services to be performed at a dealership; any reputable independent shop with ASE certified technicians will be able to file a claim on the warranty.

You would need one for a Chevy, Dodge and Ford. But don't waste your money if you're driving a Toyota Tundra. You'll put 250k on it before it gets broke in.

It’s all statistics and analytics for the dealer/OEM to come out ahead. It’s a roll of the dice individually, with slight odds in your favor.
Like earliers stated, it’s more for peace of mind (kind of like how insurance would be if not required).

I’ve never got it and worked out so far (knock on wood).
