Money maker for the dealership.
That one thing you need it for won’t be covered.

I think it should be after the number bc that’s how you say it.

Number first then “dollars”.

One hundred dollars = 100$

$100 = dollars one hundred

On a Toyota and probably not. Just had a colleague have a Ford power stroke fuel pump failure would have cost him times the cost of his warranty and labor can kill you on just about any repairs

If people knew how little these pay out they would never even consider them.

It’s all statistics and analytics for the dealer/OEM to come out ahead. It’s a roll of the dice individually, with slight odds in your favor.

It’s just an accounting liability and they never work out in the consumers favor at anything other than the individual here and there.

A typical warranty is basically half commission to the stealership for originating it, 25% going to warranty co opex and 25% into the actual reserve account. Once you figure out why they only need 25% reserves you’ll figure out why they’re such a bad deal.

It’s worked out for me several times with several different vehicles and is currently working out for me now.

Just like travel insurance

We got stuck in Steamboat for 3 extra days and our travel insurance not only covered me and my family but also the couple we were traveling with

My 2023 Tundra came with a lifetime powertrain warranty. So I passed on any extended warranty plus Toyota is so reliable why piss the money away.

I know I plumber that bought 2 and both have had to have a transmissions, but to be fair he was working the trucks(pulling a mini-ex).

They wouldn’t sell them to you if they were losing money.

You would need one for a Chevy, Dodge and Ford. But don't waste your money if you're driving a Toyota Tundra. You'll put 250k on it before it gets broke in.

2023 Tundra is a complete redesign. The bullet proof 5.7 is gone. Tundras 2022 and earlier you are good to go. 2023 and on is unknown.

this is why if you want one, only buy a manufacturers warranty from a dealership that sells them online after the fact like flood ford.

After waiting four months for a microwave during COVID, and their frequent model obsolescence, I got an extended warranty on one. Peace of mind.

Only on a car. if the extended warranty only adds a few bucks to my note, I’ll get it for peace of mind. I e used mine twice. Saved me about $1200 so far

I don’t buy them for anything else
