Indiana has this. Found out the hard way on a cross country trip. The hotel ice bucket churn method comes in handy to rapid chill a forty.

One of these dipshits is from Piperton, which is located in my home county. The area has blown up since 2010 with a lot of people leaving Shelby County and uhh, they ain't sending their best. Lot of fundamental religious types in the western half of the county trying to overlegislate everything.

Need to do something about drunk driving. Stiffer penalties would be better. Same with distracted driving.

That makes a lot more sense then trying to ban certain sales.

Go after the people who are causing problems, instead of going after everyone.

Gant was hit by a drunk driver a year or so ago- head on and almost killed him IIRC, I think this is personal to him

That sucks he had to deal with that. I hope he is ok.

Does not in any way excuse this awful attempt at new laws.

The headline isn't even the worst part of the bill. The worst part is the part that makes it illegal for bars to serve customers more than 2 drinks or 3 beers unless it's verified they have a DD as if there's any feasible way for a bar to verify and hold a customer to that

Absurd

Glad I drink whiskey. Neat.

Subsection 12 of the proposed bill requires that liquor be heated to 200 degrees before sale. No person who purchases liquor may purchase ice within the same 24 hour period.

Two Republican lawmakers have introduced legislation seeking to ban sales of refrigerated alcohol at convenience stories and retail establishments while also placing new restrictions on alcohol consumed in bars and restaurants absent a designated driver or alternative means for patrons to get home safely.

Look at that, a couple of "republicans" attempting to restrict people's rights

How are they going to heat up a bottle of booze from the shelf?

How are they going to know you bought it somewhere within past 24 hours?!

I don’t think the system is broken. The politicians are broken. They are horrible corrupt people.

People on this forum often gripe about Republican politicians failing to “do” something. Well, these guys are “doing” something, it’s just not thought to be the correct approach.

That shite ain’t going to happen. They got bimbo bridesmaids riding around Nashville drunk as piss on pedal carts drinking margaritas in the open air at 10:00 am. There’s no coming back from that.

That’s one of these times that fellow politicians need to step in and said wtf is wrong with you?

Why are you wasting everyone’s time introducing some BS that is gonna get shot down with a quickness?

As a former alcoholic I can say I once drank day old beer with a cigarette butt in it. It being cold would not matter. Actually...warm beer went down faster

It may not be like this anymore but last time I was in Pittsburgh I went to a 7-11 to get beer and they didn't have any. I had to go to a liquor store.

Those closed early too so after like 6pm I had to go to a bar and get a 6pk to go at bar prices. It was a whole new world to me.

Pennsylvania has some strange alcohol laws. I found out the hard way a few years ago on a road trip. Stopped at 3 different gas stations off I-81 trying to fill my ice chest for a music festival. At the 3rd gas station I finally asked where I can get beer and I had to go to the grocery store.

It seems every state has some weird laws pertaining to alcohol. In Alabama, no alcohol from 2 am to 12 pm on Sundays. But bars and restaurants can sell it between those times
