No you're right. It's not like a 5 second Google search doesn't bring up Institut für Sexualwissenschaft.

I mean obviously that place never existed. And certainly the term transexual wasn't coined in 1923 in the essay Die Intersexuelle Konstitution.

I mean you said no one was trans! So why would an institution be studying it?

Seriously, this was a quick Google search and it popped up multiple references to Academic papers and such. And I didn't bother looking at other references to trans behavior outside this one.

The March on Washington happened August 28, 1963.

X-Men #1 came out September 1963.

i'm not saying it's impossible... but impractical. Comics took months on months to go from drawing to editing to publication to distribution back then.

The comparisons to civil rights came well after.

The original answer of X-Men were made as mutants to avoid having to avoid doing back stories from the 60s and 70s is the answer.

Not opposed to any political messages either way, just pointing out revisionist history

Trans, as in people born with both genitalia, has existed forever by various names. This is not the same thing.

Trans, as it is known today, was invented by John Money. He performed the experiments and started the surgeries. No, that doesn't mean no one ever studied delusional people before. There is a difference between understanding and treating a delusion and "affirming" it. You continue to provide exceptions that prove the rule. To use my earlier analogy, this is like claiming men with blades on their fingers was normal because Freddy Krueger and Edward Scissorhands were in movies.

One is a delusion. The other is an actual medical condition that is easily corrected because we know the person's correct sex and gender based on characteristics other than genitalia.

That is intersex. It use to be called a hermaphrodite. That is not the same as trans.

Institut für Sexualwissenschaft was performing gender affirmative studies pre WWII.

quote:

I said no one was trans. And that's correct. There were virtually no trans people until the past few years. It wasn't a thing. Yes, everyone knew it was possible for trans people to exist, in the birth abnormality context. No one was going around changing their gender.

That is your quote. I mean at this point I don't know what else to say. You are clearly wrong about John Money's research as it was built upon the work of others that came before him. Plus, you saying there was no trans people in 1990 but John Money did his research in the 60's. The David Reimer surgery was in 1966.

So you're not even getting your own argument right.

To act like the X Men weren't originally created so lazy writers didn't have to keep writing origin stories is retarded.

To act like they didn't quickly pivot to using their status as mutants as a vehicle for social commentary is equally retarded.

Both things can be true and the people that deny b either are retards.

I know it is confusing that I didn't blindly agree with incorrect facts; but me not faking rage about the trans community does not equal me supporting them.

I don't give a shite that a minor character that is killed off in the second episode is nonbinary. I'm not going to pretend I care about the character now that they are changing something about him.
