Didn't know that they were doing this, but it seems interesting. The original series was SO good.

This could be epic... Praying that Disney keeps the agenda out.

Xmen is inherently somewhat political, so there will be some subtext there I assume. Hopefully its to a minimum

Yeah, hopefully they don't make the mutants an allegory to racism or some dumb crap. Could you imagine?

When I hear that theme music I want to run through a wall.

Man, I wish they would have adapted that music for the X-Men movies. First thing I would fix.

I don’t mind the outcast idea.

In more just don’t want to be beat over the head with trans, gay, lgbtq stuff.

Xavier was in an on-again-off-again with Moira McTaggert, and had a fling with a Shi'ar, I think.

I'm done nerding.

I fully expect people to claim the discrimination the X-Men face in this mirror what the LGBTXYZ movement face.

It's not, just so we're clear. The discrimination the X-Men face is generic enough that any group that feels attacked for being themselves can relate to it. Hell I related to it back in the 90's for being a nerd that enjoyed comics.

But the right will blow their stack and claim the show is pushing a message and a threat to America, the left will throw a ton of extra meaning that isn't there because it does push their message, and the world will continue spinning because everyone has to be miserable all the time and try to ruin everything for everyone else so they too end up miserable as well.

Yup... and that was part of his core personality for a LONG time too. Part of the reason Onslaught happened (though that was even more so from aspects of Magneto's mind when Xavier mind-wiped him).

Pretty sure eventually that was let go. Just another in those "yes it happened but we don't talk about it, ever" - like how Reed Richards used to beat his wife (but we still seem to get reminded about how Hank Pym assaulted his), etc.

All of those things COULD happen, sure.

That being said, it's on a streaming platform, and the allegory is a direct one to the Civil Rights movement of the 60s (when they were originally created).

Now, if it makes kids feel connected to, regardless of the reason they feel that way? I don't see an issue.

It'll be the adults that make it political; the kids will either see people with cool powers or someone they can relate to because they're different (regardless if that difference is because of race, sexuality, clique, etc.)

really awesome they are sticking with the old animation style and not modernize it. I'll definitely check this one out.
