Would you draft Brock Bowers if available?

I saw a mock draft on NFL network this morning that had Brock Bowers going to the pick right after the Saints. I know we have much more pressing needs this offseason than tight end, but I think you have to take Brock Bowers if he’s still on the board. He’s gonna be an all-pro type tight end. Fwiw, that same mock had us taking Bo Nix. I’d frickin lose it if we draft Nix in round 1.

Depends if a higher rated OT is there, but overall I would like that pick.

Definitely.

Think about how many times a TE burned us this year. Hockenson in the Vikings game, La Porta in the Lions game.

And all those good years Jimmy Graham for the Saints. Having a weapon at TE is as important as ever in today's game.

Look at the two TE's in the Super Bowl today. Kelce and Kittle.

I don't disagree that Bowers would be a great pick its just that if a high grade OT or Edge is there, I think they should fill one of those first IMO.

In general I’d rather add someone to the trenches but he’s a must draft if available. I’d be floored if he makes it out of the top 10 though. By the time we get through free agency we shouldn’t have many holes anyways so best player available needs to be the move. And he will be an immediate year 1 playmaker out of the gate. You can find other positions later in the draft but there’s no other TE like him.

Starting OL/DL can be found in 2nd round, you most definitely take Bowers! He could be a top 5 TE

I saw that one. It’s a terrible mock.

As far as Bowers; yes, he’s a take unless Joe Alt, Olumuyiwa Fashanu, or one of the top QBs falls to you. Bowers is better value than Verse, but we need a pass rush so badly that that one is kind of a toss up.

I’d definitely take him. A legit play maker at TE is one of the toughest things to defend.

Saints need a top tier OT or a pass rusher. I like Bowers as an immediate contributor, especially getting someone as OC from the Shanahan tree, but I don’t think the Saints will gamble passing up on one of their biggest needs in the first round.

If they draft Bo Nix then the front office needs to be burned to the ground.

If he's bpa and OL, DL are reaches. Fine.

A game changing te who can block and catch can do lots for a team. Look at sf, Detroit, and kc

Yes. Excellent blocker and receiver, surprisingly deep route tree. Think about Kittle in SF...I'd imagine Kubiak would integrate him like that.

Having TEs who aren't a tell (Johnson=mostly pass, Moreau=mostly run) would be a huge boon, and thats putting the insane receiving upside aside

I'd sprint to the podium. We've done pretty bad in the last decade taking line players in the first round, except for Ramcyzk and Bresee. Our scouting department has made bigtime hits on O-line deeper in the draft.

1 of Brock Bowers, Jared Verse, Dallas Turner, or an elite OL is good in my book. I’d also be ok with moving to #3 to get Jayden.

1. Move up for Jayden
2. Brock bowers/Jared Verse/ELITE OL
3. Dallas Turner or BPA

I wouldn't mind it - provided our new OC actually gameplans the use of a TE. all pro talent or not, doesn't matter if you do not use them

If he’s there, you take him. Will be a star for a decade or more.

I've only seen one mock where Bowers lasted to #14.

He's almost always mocked in the Top 10, and most regularly to the Chargers at #5.

Unless, he tanks at the combine/pro day, I don't think he'll even be a realistic option, without trading up (god forbid).

If he's at 14, 100000%.
