It gets easier. It's worth watching just for the historical significance IMO.

Is it genius to get an interview with a leader currently at odds with Joe Biden? Obviously he'll have a cheering audience here. Let's see...who will be next on Tucker's interview list some of ya'll will gush over? the Supreme Leader of Iran?

Seeing Joe Pesci in a gangster movie makes me want to get in touch with my Italian roots. It makes me want to slick my hair back, put on a tank top, don a gold chain, and start talking with my hands.

Well to be fair anybody slobbering Putins knob are idiots. He's an ex-KGB spook, and nobody should believe anything any spook from anywhere ever says.

He had a masterful delivery in the interview. He made himself relatable, and any American right-leaning person is going to leave that wondering at least to some extent if we are the bad guys, which is absolutely his desired outcome.

Or maybe he's genuine and correct, and wants global peace and prosperity and wants America to "wake up." Odds are we'll never know the truth one way or the other. It's worth sitting through just because it is of major historical significance IMO.

How does this get downvoted? Do people here genuinely like Putin?

I just watched about 45-60 minutes of the middle of the interview.

I’m going to start over and watch from the beginning, but from I saw and gathered is that Putin is a very intelligent person and he made some very good points

I’ll wait until after I watch the entire interview and Tucker’s response after the interview

Putin doesn't like Biden. They don't like Biden. Therefore Putin is good

The media lies. The media says Putin is bad. Therefore Putin is good.

It's a really simple, shallow way to do logic.

I don't like Putin.

I also recognize that for all of his life, Pedo-Joe Biden has been a lying, thieving, loud-mouthed POS Narcissist.

Both can be true.

I'm sure some simple minded people do. The majority are probably open minded enough to understand that there's probably some measure of truth to what he says. The other end of the simple minds spectrum think he's still a purebred KGB 1960's Soviet death to all Americans communist. As always the truth is likely somewhere in the muffle.

I can think of someone else who fits that bill, actually quite a bit better than “Pedo-Joe”.

That doesn’t change the fact that Putin is more intelligent than Biden and Trump combined and probably more intelligent than any other US politician.

He knows how to keep China in his back pocket and he knows what it means

The little bit of the interview I watched, he pretty much said the US is stepping on our dick.

Which I agree

I didn't mind the 30 minute history lesson at all, rather enjoyed it, but thought it was funny that he prefaced it saying it would take "a minute or two".

I mean, I get it. Not sure how old he is but he isn't young, and seems extremely sharp, at least in that realm.

Relatable, but not exactly cuddly. It was a good interview.

Definitely gonna listen to the History of Russia podcast for some more context.

Agree 100%. Putin is a killer and evil evil man. Anyone who thinks highly of this guy is a fricking retard.

But it can be beneficial to interview people like him if they’re interviewed by a tough journalist. You can see how they view things, what their thought process is. Which is the point I was getting at. In no way was I trying to praise Putin.

Journalists should be encouraged to interview as many prominent historical figures they can (good or bad). We shouldn’t be discouraging that. Which is what the fig who commented on my OP was getting at.

What's your opinion on Julius Caesar? Ghengis Khan? Hannibal? Nobunaga? Napoleon? Montezuma? Shaka Zulu? I could go on.

Finding figures interesting who have done violence doesn't necessarily mean you are praising them.

Furthermore, citizens of other countries most likely think of our former leaders as murderers while we look at them as iconic historical figures, patriots and heroes. Having an understanding of history gives us a different perspective on the reason behind what’s going on in the world regardless of who you support.

We've stepped on our dick many times and will continue to do so. OTOH he has somewhere between 50k-200k dead soldiers in a war that was supposed to last two weeks.
