Oakland's Denny's shuts doors due to crime
youtube
Will users like 4cubbies claim it isn't a crime problem, like they did in this TD thread called:

And here I thought Denny’s shut its doors in the 90s.

Growing up in the 80s, I thought nothing was better than staying in the hotel/motel that had the attached Dennys to it. That was high class

People in Louisiana seem to be highly invested in the local crime beat of the Bay Area

But did a dentist get stabbed in the eye at the dennys?

If you don't want to watch a video, here is a news article. LINK
quote:
“Denny’s has been honored to serve the Oakland community over the last 54 years,” a company statement said. “Closing a restaurant location is never an easy decision or one taken lightly. However, the safety and well-being of Denny’s team members and valued guests is our top priority. Weighing those factors, the decision has been made to close this location.”

Perhaps there is a common denominator?

We don't have any crime in Louisiana

People discussing things on a discussion board. Oh noes

Not invested but love pointing out how leftist ways are bringing this country down. Denny's closing is just another example. We can't have an interest in what's going on in this country? Last I checked Oakland is in America.

4cubbies and I are working with community leaders to stop this. Folks already have a hard enough time, we don’t need Grand Slam deserts.

Is there anything left in Oakland?

The A’s a/k/a the jewel of Major League Baseball. Brad Pitt made a movie about them!
And of course, something you can’t put a price on…cultural enrichment!

Had a good friend that had her daughter murdered in Oakland. Police never came up with a motive, just shot for fun.

I had a related conversation with my wife a few weeks ago.
She said she isn’t ever nervous about driving through dangerous areas or walking around shady places at night or in foreign countries because she’s not doing anything wrong and those people have no reason to hurt her. She looked like a deer in headlights when I told her that those people don’t need a reason, they just do it for fun because life is one big Grand Theft Auto video game to them that ends between ages 19-27 for most of them, statistically.
Typical women’s hubris and naïveté. At least she’s got nice tits.

My dad liked to eat there on account of their serving policies.

Jugs jokes aside (and I dont think you claimed "no pics" so fess up and post a few) this is a very common mentality and very incorrect. I spend a lot of time in rough areas for work. "no reason to hurt her" is just wrong - do you have a phone, watch, wallet, car? Okay someone has a reason to hurt you and take these things.
That's not to say one should never go through a bad area, but don't go blindly through as if you're a part of the scenery. You're a target and need to be aware of this.
