One thing that the McMen cannot deny is that excitement around the program is non existent

They may be able to brigade into any thread being critical of McMan and digress the convo into a Will Wade hate fest but they cannot deny that program hype and morale is shot. Apathy has set in due to the lack luster product and losing. Next year better pay dividends or we’ll need to hire a young energetic coach who gives a shite to give this Heroin addict like program a shot of narcan yet again. I didn’t even know we were playing UT last night when the last 5 years I planned an evening around a basketball game with a couple choice beers and cooking a nice meal. Cannot wait for baseball season.

I think part of that is the team not being good, but also the Will Wade mafia plays a part as well. If anyone says anything remotely positive about McMahon on here, this board torches that person and is sure to bring up Will Wade. It makes people afraid to say anything positive at all on here.

The fanbase is all kinds of fractured right now.

Why do y’all always assign cheesy nicknames like this everytime there is a divide on TD? Shits so corny

Posters who expect instant success and pine for a former coach aren't adults, much less LSU fans.

There is growing interest as witnessed by the 15 threads after every game. It will continue to grow as the team improves, which is clear to everyone with eyes that aren't covered with tears.

It takes a decade to build a basketball program. Relax

McMahon and the program are in a precarious spot. If they don't pull an upset or two over these next 5 games, then they will be going into the final stretch coming off a 1 and 9 skid. At that point, the season is over, and no one cares if they go 4-0, 3-1, or 0-4 in that last stretch of very winnable games.

That’s why we have the doom and gloomers debating the Polyannas here in every other thread?

Excitement no, but a lot of people care.

Speak for yourself. I’m a die hard LSU hoops fan and I’m very encouraged with the way we’re headed. McMahon was put in an almost impossible situation. He wasn’t hired until late March and was forced to completely gut the roster due to Wade’s refusal to let LSU know who he did or didn’t pay. Guilty or not Wade’s transgressions set the LSU basketball program back at least 4 years.

The average attendance throughout Wade’s tenure and McMahon’s 1st 2 years are almost identical.

The men’s basketball culture war is palpable. Full of straw men and hyperbole.

This is true but MM is not a cheerleader. I'm not making excuses for him but he came in under dire circumstances. He didn't have time to deliver pizzas to the frats and sororities and kiss Baton rouges collective arse and beg for support. That's the administrations failure. The marketing is non existent. He's not a pompous used car salesman arse like Musssleman Oates or Pearl. Look around the SEC. Teams in the middle of the pack crush LSU in attendance. The men's basketball fan base is putrid and sad from what was amazing in the 90s. The damn 1st row of the 100s are 20 damn feet from the court. There are a ton of quick simple ways to fix some of this.....but yet nothing ever changes. Use Auburns model on how to design an arena. The crowd is on top of you. LSU could get the seating closer to the court next year without any redesign to the current seating. But they won't. They aren't gonna do a damn thing to improve the program

For a team that needs talented players desperately, we redshirt our supposed best recruit for this season. Why is that?

Easy to find the spoiled bitches in this thread. If you don’t like the current state of LSU basketball, go cheer for someone else. Wade is gone and McMahon is the coach. Deal with it. When they turn the corner don’t come running back to get on the bandwagon.

I don’t pull for a coach. Never have and never will. The Will Wade crew obviously are big wrestling fans loving that male drama.

He’s not a “rah rah” guy

This team is lacking a few key guys but is playing very hard for him.

Support the program

Maybe one of you can help me understand. Why can't we just lock down the state as far as recruiting goes and compete? Is basketball that much of a secondary sport to football that Louisiana just doesn't produce much talent?
