He was Heisman finalist because he was the top offensive player on a top 5 team Well if that's the case, why wasn't Brock Bowers invited?

Because his NUMBERS didn't add up.
And answered also didn’t he miss several games?
Blake Corum ran for 1200 yards and had 28 TDS for the #1 team. He finished 9th somehow.
What’s really odd is the top 4 vote getters go to NYC but each voter only votes for 3 players. I really don’t see anyone outside of Daniels-Penix-Nix who really should have gotten votes

And why isn’t Brenden Rice going top 5?
Because no one is using his name as a bump.

According to NFL Rookie Watch, Harrison's 22.2 mph max speed was faster than Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill's max speed of 21.66 mph in Week 1, and faster than any NFL player's max speed last season.
I didn’t know that. Thats pretty wild.

Exactly. I would never have said he was that fast, but something that measures those things said he's pretty fing fast

The sports bros measure it.

Why? I would like someone to give me some sort of reason as to why they don't think MHJ is a great WR prospect.
I didn't say he isn't a great prospect
I said that I think the best since the turn of the century evaluations might be a bit much
He'll likely have a solid NFL career and possibly a HOF type of career. But does anyone really believe that he's clearly the best WR prospect of the last 25 years?

I've seen him compared to Julio/AJ Green. I would think those are both favorable comps going into the NFL. Impossible to know if he ever gets to that level in the league of course

I need to find it, but I recently saw a chart that differentiated plays against man vs. plays against zone based and yards per route. And 2 stood out.
MHJ was elite against man and really good against zone. Nabers was elite against zone and really good against man.
And it stood out because it was color coded and they were so elite in one area, that the the color coding made it look like they were not good in the other. But then when looking more closely, it became clear that they were actually really good in the other area too, and better than the vast majority of receivers. It was just that the other receivers weren’t so elite in one area, so there wasn’t that contrast between the two (Odunze and a couple others were near the top though).
Anyways. I think that the 3 Biletnikoff finalists are going to go high in the 1st round, and they all have so much potential that teams are going to be happy with who they got, even if they weren’t their top rated WR.
That said, I think MHJ is going to go higher because he is an absolutely freak athlete on top of everything else.

I predict Brian Thomas Jr will excel at the combine. You talking about freak athlete. When all is said and done, he may be the most productive of the group in the NFL.

He may be of course, but it could be some random guy who nobody has ever heard of before they blow up, like Puka Nacua this year. He was drafted 177th and had 105 catches and almost 1500 yards.
I don't think Harrison is going to do anything at the combine. That's my opinion as his draft stock is set

But there is big drop down to 5 (Travis-85) and 5 through 10 (McCarthy-21) are bunched together and separated by 64 points. In other words, the difference between 4th and 5th is 4.2x larger than the difference between 5th and 10th.

I wonder if puka’s numbers are a product of the rams insisting on throwing to him all the time or if it’s pure ability

In '21, they changed the rule to include the top 4 and top 4 only. Before that, they only had to have the top 3 and the "invitations" after that were determined on how close they were to the spot above them. If 4 was a certain % close to 3, they were invited, if 5 was close enough, they were invited, 6 to 5, etc...I think they had 8 some years.
But it was always based on a pre-determined mathematical formula after the top 3 who have been guaranteed since they went to inviting multiple players in the early 80s.(Pretty sure only the winner was invited before that, but that made for a bad television product, so they changed it). The committee/club never had discretion as far as I can tell to make those decisions on a year-to-year basis. They decided on the rules before the season and the rules determined the invitees.

That sounds right. Did it show their YAC stats. I think this where Malik separates himself a bit. And it makes him more versatile--he can play on the outside or in the slot and will be moved around and motioned all over, while I think MHJ is more strictly an outside guy. Which is fine--a team may prefer that if they've already got a slot guy that Harrison would be the perfect compliment to. Or the slot guy would be the compliment to him. They're both great, and I don't think any team that gets either one will be disappointed.

That'd be worse than taking that Bama kid over Stroud because "football IQ" or whatever stupid shite they made up last year.
Can you really not name the QB that won the Heisman and got drafted #1 overall?

Why do you put any stock in that type of hyperbole? There’s so much content out there between various sports media sites and posting on Twitter and boards like this A comment from just one draft analysts gets picked up and goes “viral” and it looks like it’s a consensus or something
He listed at 6’4” if he runs sub 4.4 that’s an athletic freak that gets drafted high ever time, thrown in he’s a great route runner, good hands definitely an elite prospect.

I don't pay as much attention to the NFL as college, but are slots as highly regarded as outside guys?
If heights are correct, MHjr has 3 inches on Nabers and has a huge wingspan. I would think that matters way more on the outside than the inside for fade routes etc.
