As I said in the other thread, a consistent bed time would make for a consistent wake up time without the alarm clock.

Usually lights out between 10-12 and up at 4 if going to office. Up at 530 if working from home.

4-5, sometimes nap in the afternoon for an hour. Then on weekends like 9-10 hours. I am more productive at night and my brain won’t shut the frick up. I need to get on this as its not sustainable long term

When I was getting 8-9 hours a night, I always had to have nap during the day.

Now that I sleep for shite and only get 4-5 hrs a night, I almost never take naps now.

Weird. I’d have thought the opposite would be the case.

Well I gotta call BS on that, because I'm very consistent with my bedtime, and I still need an alarm to wake me up at 5:45am.

Either a lot of the people in this thread are not very active throughout their day, so they require less recovery time, or they are destroying their bodies by not getting enough sleep.

If I wake up at 4am, I'm going to be asleep by 8pm that evening

I get up around 5am and try to go to bed around 9. I at least attempt to get around 8 hrs. Sometimes I have trouble getting back to sleep well after my 3am leak. That's pretty much like clockwork these days

5 on a good night.

I wake up and think about how nice a nap would be later in the day, but it never happens.

I haven’t used an alarm clock in years.
Unless I have to wake up super early for fishing, hunting or a flight.

Other than that my internal clock wakes me up at 0400-0430 every morning. I usually go back to sleep and wake up again around 0700-0745, sometimes I’ll just get up the first time I wake up.

I think there are a lot of people in this thread with sleep apnea or terrible sleep hygiene, and they don’t realize it.

6-7 hrs. I’d like to sleep more but can’t. If I go to bed early around 9pm, 4am is the latest I can sleep.

Around 6-6.5. Usually from 11pm to 5:30am.

Last night I made an effort to practice good sleep hygiene. No screens. Ate an early dinner. Did some light reading. Fell asleep at 9:45pm. Woke up at 3:30am.

Made me wonder what’s the point of trying….

I’m amazed by how many people apparently go to bed at 9 consistently.

I get home from work between 6 and 7. The kid is supposed to be in bed by 8, but that battle typically takes at least 30 minutes. Then, I’ve got to shower and help clean up.

Going to bed at 9 leaves zero time for me or the wife or me AND the wife.

We stay up a little for sanity.

Sleep loses out a little.

im in bed no later than 10:30 and try by 10, and am always asleep no later than 11. I wake up at 530-545 everyday and always need an alarm.

so for me 6 hours minimum, 7 normally and if its an early night, sometimes 8.

6-8. Sleep is the single most important thing for energy and longevity other than moving and staying active.

Its kind of alarming when I see older workaholic colleagues dozing off mid day and knowing people like this are all over the roads. It also nukes productivity.

According to sleep app I'm a very light sleeper so anything under 6.5 or so and I'm a corpse.
