There is a Grand Canyon sized gap between the guy in these highlights vs the guy we have now. We really are cursed.

Obviously agree with you on the bounce seen here with Zion(hes not the same) but did you notice something else?

No BI in those clips and great passing from point guards like Lonzo and Jrue. I’ll say this again, maybe for us to maximize Zion we may need an actual point guard like Jrue or Lonzo- the easy passes he got- I mean they can barely get the ball to him nowadays.

Today he has the Same skill set , worse body ,worse athleticism, worse conditioning , and worse effort .

Good to very good player still .

Don’t see the upward trajectory that some of you see or the build the team around this guy ability .

Great post

He's gotta be at least 25lbs lighter than now.

Preseason Zion was better than current Zion, and I don't think it's terribly close.

BI was in those clips. He hit a 3.

But I agree, this team needs a true PG.

that was discouraging to watch. Zion is no where near that kid. The quickness, the speed, the bounce....that fatass is easily 30lbs heavier than that kid in that video flying all over the place.

Only the Pels can get a generational, or even once in a lifetime type talent, and have him NEVER be as good as he was before his career started.

He really is at least 50 pounds overweight. He doesn't even bully his way effectively anymore. He just carries it around like an anchor.

He's not even close to that athletic anymore.

He can still get up but he needs five or six steps to get primed.

He's just too fricking big.

Seriously, why can't this fricking dude get no Ozempic?

Ok lets relax now. Yes his rebounding still sucked last night but for 3 and half quarters the best team in the league could not stop him getting to the rim. I agree hes not the same player but making him out to be Tractor Traylor is a bit much lol

I don't think that is a bad take. I would say he is 50 pounds heavier, easy.

And At that time, I believe we thought he was still shedding some weight or playing himself into shape.

Is he heavier- yes. I think shell had it right- probably 20-25 pounds. 50 pounds? Come on guys.

Outside of the obvious about his weight, his shot profile doesn’t look any different.

If anything it shows me we need a distributor/facilitator at guard. Maybe they thought Dyson could eventually be that guy when they drafted him.

When is the last time Zion drove the lane and hammered it down like in those clips?

For a freak athlete, he gets very few dunks. Anyone else notice this?

Stop it he just did this recently against the Jazz when he had a sick left handed dunk as he hammered it down the lane.

It's true. He gets dunks of lobs but very rarely drives and dunks. Not saying never but he had like two in that clip in one game.
