@nick_underhill The Saints search for an offensive coordinator has narrowed considerably, per source. They have honed in on their candidates and are adhering to league rules as they go through the process.

If they are “adhering to league rules” it must be a candidate that is still in the playoffs. One would think it’s either Kubiak or Greise

Think they are allowed to interview assistants on teams playing in the super bowl. Usually the nfl wants teams to wait till after the super bowl to announce hirings. Not in the week leading up to it

This is true.
Based on this it's likely going to be one of the two. IMO Kubiak makes the more sense as he has called offensive plays before (though I'd prefer Grease) and DA has to get this pick right so trusting someone who has never called plays is very risky for someone in his position. IMO there are better choices that will become better OC but DA doesn't have the time to allow them to grow into the position he must have positive results early on in the 2024 season. (Not to say the other couldn't have early success)
Of the ones that are left Johnson would be my ultimate first pick but he's obviously waiting to see of Slowik gets a HC job. iirc Johnson's first choice would be to stay at Houston as OC.
Anyway Kubiak will do good in NOLA and also I can see him not totally reinventing the offense in one season but interjecting subtle changes and tweaks to maximize Carrs ability. The last thing we want is Carr starting over with a totally new system in his 2nd year here. It historically takes him time to ramp up to speed in new systems.

That's usually done THIS week, not the week of the Super Bowl.

#Ravens WRs coach Greg Lewis will interview today for the #Saints offensive coordinator job, per source. Lewis, the former NFL receiver, won two Super Bowls on Andy Reid’s staff in Kansas City before joining Baltimore this past season.

Wait this long only to be turned down, nobody that made the superbowl wants to hitch their wagon to Allen, they will be looking for another job next year…

This is one of the most often repeated and least informed narratives circulating.

im going to be shocked if saints hire anyone other than Curry at this point

I'll be pretty shocked if they do hire curry. Why wait for curry?

you think you're super smart on your thinking but its quite ignorant. the candidates they've not hired either didn't have saints no. 1 on their list or got promoted where they are at. The saints have eyes on candidates still in the playoffs and one just finished his season.

To show that they conducted an "extensive search" for an OC. I'm holding out hope that they're waiting on someone from the 49ers' staff and that's why there hasn't been any hire yet. Kamara running loose in a wide-zone scheme would tickle my fancies. Plus the Shanahan system is simple enough that even Carr couldn't screw it up miserably.

If it is going to be Curry, it will be this week IMO. If they wait past this week, it is going to be one of the 49ers coaches.

Not usually, I think it has to be done this week. As in, an in person interview this week, and nothing can happen next week. That usually means that the team doing the interview has to get on a plane and go to the assistant coach, not the other way around. Basically, the guy's current team has to accommodate it, and the hiring team has to do the literal legwork to meet in person.

Why would the candidates agree to announce it prior to the Super Bowl? Makes no sense.
They will want to keep it hush / not announce or agree until afterward, as a condition to accepting

I'd bet money it's not curry. Anyone want to bet 500$?
I think it will be jerrod Johnson or one of the 49ers

Kinda hoping it’s someone bad so this shiteshow regime will be over and knock Loomis off his high horse.
I knew Allen was going to be a bad hire but thought it would be over after two years. I’m still pissed I have watch this crap an additional year now because of Loomis’s ego.
