Hearing some agent went rogue and is turning crap up

i agree, but i guess I'll never understand why someone from LSU would want to post shite that makes it easy to take shots at LSU. Kinda like standing there with their legs spread and saying, "Here, kick me in the nuts and get a good laugh."
It’s called getting ahead of it newbie. Either get a chance to put your spin on something coming out regardless or let others

Maybe, but that stuff happens so often. Drives me nuts that they can't wait to drop the ball until they are at least halfway into the end zone.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars on Wagers / Payouts is extremely misleading. You can have multi hundred thousand dollar payouts with like 1-5K wager (multi leg parlay)
Sorry, this takes too much energy to investigate.
We’d much rather have a splashy headline, make assumptions, and drag people through the mud before having all the facts.

I am going to bet more people get caught up in this. This is not a good look for LSU. How did they not find out?

I highly doubt he was wagering hundreds of thousands of dollars.
If he was "acting as a bookie" as you suggested, it's certainly possible.

Then we have some Dipshit posters that feel the need to run and post this on the SEC Rant so other SEC schools can take shots at LSU.... it's going to get there, but I don't see what the need is to Air LSU's dirty laundry. i don't get it
Oh no, the mean internet people might say bad things about LSU

He announced for the NFL draft on December 28, 2022, a week after declaring his intention to re-enroll at LSU in the spring, but NOT play in the Citrus Bowl.
It would be interesting to know what changed his mind during that week.
He is a POS, but many here defended him even after his demands for more money, veiled threats to go to Bama, demand for the No. 7...

dudes are flush with cash and can bet on something they have inside knowledge of by downloading an app....plus many like Boutte are really fricking stupid. So yeah this is going to happen pretty more often

Hey moron...after you place a bet you are shown a payout. I didnt say he hit it but if he put $100 on a 12 team ML parlay of all underdogs it would probably pay out over 100K BUT he also probably didnt hit it.
Hey moron, I was right and you were wrong. 8,900 bets were placed on the account. The argument is over, your speculation was stupid as frick and anyone with half a brain knows that a bunch of hood rats in Baton Rouge Louisiana who were the subject of a major investigation didn’t get there by putting down five $10 12 leg parlays. Get a clue
ETA: and just to be clear, 8,900 bets at $20/bet would come out to $178,000 in wagers alone. The article isn’t “misleading”

I really am surprised this isnt more common
If you mean that you're surprised it isn't more common for college aged athletes betting, then you'd be way off base (a vast majority of college athletes participate in sports betting).
But if you mean you're surprised because more people don't get caught, I'd agree that it's surprising.

I wonder if the alleged perp will drag others down with him. It will be the story of the 2024 season. Kids with a shite ton of money and get rich quicker schemes and time on their hands is bad juju. Jeez even I want to crawl under a rock and I don’t bet. For years I wanted Pete Rose to be re-instated. Now, I don’t think so.
The statement the university had was carefully worded. They could not find anyone else that was involved.

I’m not arguing that it was ever free of issues.
But it was one of the more intrinsically motivated markets out there for a long time. Were some players getting money under the table? Absolutely.
But did they care about the letters on the uniform & about winning & developing their craft & the spirit of team sports more than just getting a big check as a stepping stone to the NFL or their own personal celebrity?
Also absolutely.
Always exceptions, but those elements that differentiated college ball from pro sports get buried deeper each year.
To argue otherwise would either be naive or disingenuous.

Yea I mean just on the surface, tons of other LSU football players are probably involved

This thug POS better not be a reason Gordon slows down on paying players.
Posted on 1/25/24 at 1:22 pm to bradygolf98
Actually college athletes (at least I know for D1) aren’t allowed to make any sports wagers at all on any sports at all whether they are 21 or not.

Kayshon Boutte bet close to 9,000 times from 4/22 to 5/23, 17 of those bets were on NCAA football games, with at least six on LSU football.
