People are stubborn jackasses. They'd rather the country burn than admit they were wrong. All because they listen to the 'smart people' on the TV like Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow tell them what to think.

I’m not a Democrat, but if you really are interested in hearing that I’d suggest you google, and follow, Mathew Yglesias. He thinks Biden is doing a very good job and makes an excellent case for that. Ultimately I believe his case fails, and you surely will too, but you won’t vanquish it with Rant-like platitudes.
I read Yglesias every day. I am not going to try to give you his essay long case, but I’ll tell you the flaw that I see in it; it’s that he neglects the harm that has been done by inflation. He thinks that just because inflation has come way down that the harm is over.
There are several other problems with his case, but those reflect different values, so they can’t really be argued. For example, he thinks that importing a zillion immigrants from mostly Latin America is perfectly fine. He thinks multiculturalism is peachy. Well, that’s something that can’t really be defeated in an argument, but it’s something with which we, on here, almost universally disagree.

Address your opponents at their very best. Mostly folks on social media find some idiot actor, or buffoonish politician, and lampoon their stupid performances. That is funny, but it’s not meaningful.
The left has many highly intelligent people who believe fervently in a worldview that is not ridiculous, as we would have it on here. Read them. Argue with them in your mind. This will sharpen your arguments, and it will probably change your mind on some things.
The truth is that as populations become denser they need more government, and ours - in fact, the whole world - is becoming denser. For small government conservatives this, along with the human desire for security, puts us in a position of fighting a rear guard action against big government.
And the people, like Bernie Sanders, who want big government are mostly motivated by good intentions. They want to take care of the poor and insure everyone against every contingency. They rarely understand that this demotivates most people and has an immiserating effect on everyone.
But saying things like, “They are all evil” is self-aggrandizing foolishness. They are just like us: mostly wanting the best society but mostly producing leaders who are self-interested grifters.
If you want to argue with them, go argue with their very best. You will find that in a journal like The Atlantic and in writers like Matthew Yglesias on substack.

How do you argue you don’t want porn in schools when their argument is everyone should be seen? The moms aren’t even saying ban the book. Just don’t have it in a school library. The right can’t even have the conversation because the left is just about shutting down speech. Or having the doj label you a terrorist.

While that may be fact, I suspect it isn’t the size of government that taxpayers object to …. it’s the corruption and complete lack of accountability at the Federal level.(Grade = F)
Return government to the States, where it belongs as an element of a Republic .

You need to understand to them, it's not Biden they're voting for. It's progressive liberal policies. They understand Biden is the face of the party but he's nothing more. He's not making decisions and shaping policy. He's the red cape dangles in front of the Conservative bull to distract him while the democrat matador prepares to insert another sword into the neck of America. Slowly killing it.

Here is a great example of the foolish tendency to look for the buffoons among your opponents, defeat their buffoonish points, and claim victory over all. Most leftists do not believe gender is fluid.
I mentioned Yglesias in the earlier post. His view is that gender is not actually fluid but that if a boy wants to be called a girl he is too polite not to. He is not in favor of letting them compete as girls, though.
For posters like you, dgnx6, it's a lot easier to argue against the buffoons on the left, just as they find it easier to argue against you.

Of course. I implied that in my post. Ultimately, I think they are wrong. And every time they get their chance for radical social experimentation it ends badly. They keep saying it just hasn't been implemented correctly, but to those of us who said it would never work...
