The interior designer of that house must have been a fan of "Mad Men."

This house would be awesome out in the mountains somewhere, but not Houston.

Conversation pits always sort of just look porny. Just looks like a place where people do coke.
All that glass makes me feel bad for the cleaning lady.

This would be considered a starter home for most OTers.

I want it. That is my dream house. I love glass and steel residential architecture.

I made a comment in another thread that buying a house in the Heights, River Oaks, or Montrose is dumb to do in Houston. If you just go 10 miles west to like Briarwood, they're very affordable. Here's an example I found last night:
Heights neighborhood: $650k for 1400 sq ft 2 bedroom, 2 bath, no yard basically, kinda older home
Briardwood neighborhood: $400-450k for 3,000 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, sizeable yard, newer house.
Only difference is one is a 12 minute further drive to downtown than the other. Save the money and put it in the SP 500, not to mention less debt which interest rates typically are slightly higher than what houses appreciate at.

If your wife or daughter are hot, beware neighbor kids with drones.

In 20-30 years it will look just as outdated as shag carpet

A/C bill probably off da charts.

I friggin love it. All the glass is on the private, wooded backside. The street side is just an ordinary ‘60’s/‘70’s style mid-century ranch… very understated but still cool.
The ceramic flat-top induction stove has got to go, though.

I don't hate that style if it's set far away from other, more traditional houses in the neighborhood.
You'd also want that since everyone can see in your place.
