Third choice-- Nicki Haley (the most logical choice by far-- name recognition, prior Cabinet experience, ability to get suburban womens' vote).

I agree with you ... but I do believe Tucker would be a real ball buster as the White House Press Secretary.

Elise Stefanik or Haley would possibly benefit the ticket. Trump's most disappointing results in 2020 came from the suburbs, where moderate GOP men and women, as well as independents and undecideds, were repelled by Trump's truculent tone.

Most women hate other women. They might vote for a woman president since that’s never happened but not for VP.

I agree. I love Tucker but he’s too divisive and too big of a character to not distract from Trump.

It better not be Haley and Don Jr has already come out and said he will do everything he can to ensure it is not Haley.

At least he has some common sense around hiring decisions, unlike his father.

As of right now, there is only one guy I’d be thrilled about and it’s this guy. Vivek

I’ve been saying this for a while. He’s a minority entrepreneur, thinks a lot like Trump, has name recognition now because of the debates/primary.

Stefanik would be an excellent choice but I still think Doug is leading for several reasons:
1) Male - (Gorka clue)
2) He's of the radar of pundits/press (Gorka clue)
3) very Patriotic (Gorka clue)
4) hard-arse, competent, action guy (Gorka clue)
5) Impressive Track record in business, very successful, earned his wealth honestly
6) Impressive Track record as governor, competent
7) From a farming family
8) comes from a safe GOP state, N. Dakota
9) Squeaky clean - no skeletons
10) (this is a big reason) is not a flashy/charismatic/big talker and won't compete with Trump in the spotlight (Vivek would compete with Trump in the spotlight/ can't keep his mouth shut)

Wtf is the fascination with Tim Scott? He's a terrible speaker, not particularly bright, likeable yes, but beyond that, he's just a normal black dude who happens to be GOP.

I'll never understand the fascination with him.

Male, patriotic, target of the press, impressive business track record, farming family, no skeletons, uncharismatic yada yada yada....

That's all great if you're prepping to become the new Paul Harvey, or Dan Smoot, but it sure doesn't win elections. He will in fact imperil Trump's chances as he would be cast as a right wing extremist.

Whatever plays in The Dakotas or Nebraska just doesn't resonate with mainstream Main Street U.S.A.

I get that but think about Trump's priorities. Why did he choose Mike Pence? Doug Bargam is even less of a threat than Pence and won't upstage or embarrass Trump. Trump doesn't want people saying, "I wish Vivek was the President" but they won't be afraid of Doug Bargam either. The other thing about Bargam is that he does not scare anyone. You would trust your wife & kids with him. He's the image of maturity, stability & wisdom. Also, Trump want's Bargam to carry out policy. Bargam has lots of executive acumen.

I'm not going to go look, but I wonder how many people answered "Mike Pence" in this same thread of January 2016?

Who is Doug Burgum

A self-made real-estate billionaire like Trump.

He won't be the VP, but I would see him fitting in the Administration for sure.

I'll throw in a wild-card to the discussion - Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

It will be a woman, but it won't be Nikki Haley.
