BAMA exodus far more devestating than the 2021 LSU exodus

Alabama has lost a significant portion of their best and most experienced players. The only major players LSU lost were Max Johnson and Eli Ricks and neither made a big impact at their new spot. It will likely get even worse for BAMA. It wouldn't be surprising to see Milroe leave for possibly Florida State or back home to Texas at TCU. Their receiving corp has been decimated so no reason for him to stay there.

We had 39 scholarship players when Kelly took over. Yes most left prior to Kelly taking over but don't act like we avoided losing most of our roster.

Two big differences:
The quality of the departures and the fact LSU departures occurred in November and early December which gave Kelly more time to replenish the roster. It should not be overlooked there were several quality transfers who were from Louisiana and thrilled to get the opportunity to don the purple and gold. Alabama does not produce as many quality players.

We’re still feeling those effects of 2021. This is really going to hurt bama

The only running he may do is to get as far away from Tuscaloosa as he can once he looks around at whats left around him.

In the timeless words of the Cajun philosopher Ed Orgeron:
Roll Tide What frick You. We comin.’
Roll Tide What frick You. We comin.’

This has been trotted out there so much. We had 39 scholarship players available for the bowl game, not on the team.
Your starting qb in 2024 was one of them on scholarship but unavailable. I believe Baskerville was as well. I think the real number was around 50.
Not a great situation but no 39 like everyone constantly says.

If I was Milroe I might test the portal waters a bit. His arse got benched last year. And this year isn’t exactly shaping up to be a Heisman campaign. Take the bag and transfer to a school in a position to compete and maintain or improve draft status. It’s just a business decision now right?

Bama is heading into the dark ages for a few years.

Not remotely comparable... We lost our seniors from that 2019 team...almost all our juniors... half our sophomores (the better ones took off thanks to "Covid") and were left with a scattering of a few leftovers, 2019 backups and that freshman class...
No team ever has or will experience that

New DC putting HPJ on him and we are going to feast.

By raw numbers, maybe, but there is no comparison in quality. Can you name the LSU transfers who made significant contributions to their new teams?

Noted and edited. It’s been a minute since Ed unleashed that gem.

No worse than the dark ages LSU was headed into and we won 10 games in each of the next two seasons, won the West, and won a Heisman.

What makes it even better is that since the portal window is closed, they have to wait until Spring to try and salvage their losses.

They all went to, or quit to wait for, the NFL... no one was going anywhere but to get paid from that team. It was 2019/2020.
Which is one issue, like it or not, for a team like LSU. No one comes to stick around for "their turn" like the 15 out of 22 seniors did for Michigan's team this year. Our culture is best described as a "get paid" or a "gladiator school" culture.

Wish we had the room to feast on this.
