I’m coming to town this weekend and want to pickup a king cake. One that people will talk about when I bring it in on MLK day.

Meches might still do a boudin & bacon one.
Of course, one can argue that those are giant donuts and not king cakes.

Poupart’s has traditional king cakes, much less sweet, I like them.

That Twin's one is pretty unique. If you want good, Kellers is good.

Get a classic French king cake. Somebody else will have to point you somewhere to grab one in Lafayette though.
Unique and, in my opinion, even better than the usual type.

Keller's or Crystal Weddings

Rouses has stepped up their baking game from traditional KC’s to unique flavors. Co-worker brought a Root Beer and a Wedding Cake flavored KC to the office yesterday. The Wedding cake was very good. Filled with almond flavored light whipped cream, icing topping with sliced almonds. Solid if you like wedding cake flavor… the root beer was just OK.

Keller’s has a traditional one. Pouparts has a French version. Most unique would be Poupart’s. Both are very good. Scratch the Meche’s from your list.

Keller’s was my go to when I lived in Lafayette. Can’t go wrong.
