Yes, early report from FootballScoop was that we were still pursuing him as edge coach

I dont konw why you wouldnt have been excited about Peoples. He has a good resume with edge rushers.

From the Mizz website:

Mizz Athletics

quote:

Under Peoples’ guidance, IU led the Big Ten in sacks for the first time in program history in 2020

quote:

Peoples was part of Green Wave teams that won consecutive bowl games for the first time in program history in 2018 and 2019. Three-time all-conference defensive end Patrick Johnson led the team in sacks both years

quote:

His line guided GSU to the top spot in the league and 24th nationally in rushing defense (130.9), and second in the conference and 24th nationally in total defense (338.1).

Mizz was tied for 10th this past year in total team sacks.

I mean the guy knows how to get edge rushers to the quarterback.

Peoples’ position group is fine. We have a bunch of really good edge players. They just need the refinement from Peoples.

It’s Davis’ group that needs to add bodies.

So it appears LSU’s defense really pissed Kelly off this year.

Dude’s got some serious poker face game. He didn’t show a crack all season.

The fact that Missouri fans think LSU is a lateral coaching move is down right, gut busting hilarious!

How pissed do you think Mizzou fans are? They lost it when Baker left.

Good hire.

Not pissed. When Baker left most of us new he was going. Peoples was probably waiting on the salary and buyout. He only makes $400,000 at Mizzou, so it should be a nice raise. He’s been coaching for over 30 years it’s time for him to get paid.

Baker and Peoples work good together and it should be good for you.

On the Missouri roster board:
quote:

Kevin Peoples, a 29-year coaching veteran, joined the Mizzou staff in January 2022. He serves as assistant coach for the defensive line, working with the edge position. Peoples arrived in Columbia after two seasons at Indiana and four seasons at Tulane.

I'd rather my DC to only be responsible for 1 position in addition to coordinator duties. Hire Nagle to coach TE and Special Teams so that you can go with this on defense...

DT Davis
Edge Peoples
LB/DC Baker

It did strike me coming from a fanbase who hasn't experienced enough success to melt really really hard.

This one's better, though:

"Karma go bite them on their a$$

I really do think it is time if we have a new DC to bring the message to the team. Before LSU tries to take our players, what is the deal with Kelly and MIZZOU it is getting old how he thinks he can just poach what he wants. I take it personally as a fan that a team can do that.

I really think it is time we put our foot down on this BS strike back. Kelly will keep doing this if MIZZOU just lets him do this over and over, are we ALPHAS or Betas as a program."

Oooooh, I'm sure CBK is skert now!

Edited to add: the responses to the post are much more sane fwiw.
