I knew someone in the athletic department and one example of this is that there was a rule that if you were walking down the hall and he was coming in the opposite direction you were not allowed to make eye contact and you CERTAINLY were not allowed to speak to him.

Don’t you think that sounds just a little bit fantastical?

I can’t wait for the entire entitled generation that has grown up being at the top end of college football to fall back into being mediocre. It will be a glorious, glorious day. God help whoever follows in Sabans footsteps. It will be short lived. No one can match the expectations and manage the personalities of their boosters

I always laugh at LSU fans that think we would have had some magical run.

LSU Saban NEVER would get the mulligans, officiating, etc, Bama Saban got. NEVER.

Hell, look at the 2004 Auburn game.

LSU likely has what they have now and maybe one or two more. Maybe. LSU isn't Bama. The SEC would not have fixed anything for Saban here. He knew that which was part of the reason he left.

It all can be boiled down to “what if Saban took a shine to any woman other than Candy Edwards”.

And he had the nerve to recommend that incompetent fricker Houston Nutt to succeed him.

The biggest problem was self inflicted. After the Dolphins job, Saban wanted to come back to LSU, but Skip Bertman turned him down. The rest is history because Skip was butt hurt.

His holding the NFL over LSU's head hurt us in recruiting the last year or two. Other coaches used that to negatively recruit.

I wouldn’t trade 2019 for any of it.

What if he’d taken Aaron Rodgers at 2 instead of Ronnie Brown?

We heard that all the way back in 2004. It is one of the things that held him back in the pros, as his players were grown arse men, not kids to be cowed. Some of them made more money than he did, to boot.

It is not only not "fantastical", it is fairly consistent based on reports from the inside and, in fact, likely to be substantially true.

I agree with many of your sentiments. And I’ll add that I never could understand how someone who wore the purple and gold could ever put on that red shirt.
