BELLEVILLE -- Bryce Underwood had 300 people in the Belleville High School cafeteria waiting with bated breath to hear him announce his college commitment.
Outside of the Belleville cafeteria, there were millions of college football fans eagerly awaiting his announcement as well. At just 16 years old, Underwood was the center of the sports world on Saturday evening as he announced his commitment to play football at Louisiana State University.
It’s pretty great,” Underwood said of the attention. “But it’s also a curse to some people as well. But with the hate ad the love they bring to it, it makes me a better person as well.”

In my experience, it’s very unusual for a high school kid to go that far to go play at lsu so it’s very encouraging to see.
5 years ago, I’d question to motivation, but now, with kids being paid above board, it appears as though he is coming because he sees it as best fit for him as a top program.

In a perfect world, this guy has a running package in '25 backing up Nuss and takes over full-time in '26.
