You remind me of a girl I once knew who kept a coat hanger in her trunk just in case she locked her keys in her car.

Look up the Project Farm on Youtube. He reviewed and tested a bunch of these and you can see which ones are legit and which are junk.

The one i have is great as long as the battery still has some voltage. But if its completely dead the sensor thinks there is an issue and locks out jumping.

Even if it's just for peace of mind, I keep tools in all my vehicles, may never have to use them, but the day I do and don't have them would be a worse day than needs to be.

Also carry a tire inflator and plug kit in your ride. I have dewalt inflator, it works great and runs off DC or 20 volt bat-tree.

Portable Jump starter. keep in vehicle?

I got one for Christmas in 2020. It's been kept it in closed compartment in back of the vehicle & haven't seen any degrading issues yet. I've used it 3 different times (all for friends or coworkers vehicles) & then recharge it afterwards. Still works as expected.

That seems to be the most obvious place to store it but will heat degrade its performance?

I have a Jump-N-Carry 660, bought it almost 10 years ago when I was getting stationed in PA. Knew some local LEO's and that's what they kept in their cruisers so I figured it would be solid. It's a beast compared to NoCo, heavy but built tough with jumper cables made like a welder ground so it can actually deliver a lot of amps. Bought my fiancée a J-N-C 450 lithium pack last month, haven't needed it yet but it seems well made and should have no trouble starting her truck even if the battery completely failed.

I got one from the Snap-On man. Never used it on my vehicle but have helped many others.

Get the Cat design that doubles as an Air Compressor.

Bought a NOCO GB50 for my son for Xmas 2022. When my work vehicle's battery went out this past August I used it 3 times until I was able to make it to store for a new battery. Not a single problem. Super easy to use.

I was so impressed with it that I bought one for myself on black Friday.

I keep Jump starter, impact wrench. tire repair kit, and air compressor in my truck at all times.

FYI: I keep a jump starter and 1/2 impact driver with lug socket in my truck at all times.

How often you check that impact driver battery for charge?

I bought one because someone helped me one day. I haven’t used it on my own car in 5 years, but have helped a lot of others.

Two threads on the front page of the OT about stuff ICE cars need - jump starts and oil - that my EV is blessedly immune from. Plus I can beat all of y’all in a race (as long as it’s not too far that it requires refueling, haha).

I just took delivery yesterday and discovered that it has speakers that produce ice noise so bystanders don’t get run over.

That’s all fine and good until the studies come out that sitting on that ginormous battery’s electromagnetic field fries your nads, increases prostrate and colon cancer and fuses your joints together.

NOCO Boost GB40 for typical vehicles. If you want to be able to jump anything get the big boy GB150 Boost Pro.

I have a couple of HALO Bolts. One has an air compressor built in.

I just keep a set of jumper cables. If my battery goes dead, there’s always someone around for a jump.

Sometimes, where you are parked is not accessible to be jumped because of other cars, or its late at night, or you are in a shady area. I love mine, and I have always been so thankful to have it when I've had to use it.

This is the one I have

$47.99 right now. I’be used it on my car as well as people at the grocery store or gas station. I’ve had it since I bought my new car. Always charged, and it was a lifesaver last time the power went out. We were able to charge phones and flashlights. I also have this Air Compressor for $27. They both fit under my seat out of the way.

I bought one from Schumacher and it wanted to be continuously plugged in when not in use.

This defeats the purpose of having it.

I was able to jump a lady’s v6 traverse at work one time.
