Good. Gave Nuss a chance to build some in-game chemistry with the guys he'll be throwing to next year. Reps for Hilton and Lacy is very important, and I'm sure they'll do a lot more in the off-season as well.

I agree, but why didn't Brian Thomas sit out? Is he coming back?

I would be shocked.

2024 NFL WR class is loaded. Thomas is great, but there are about 6 to 8 WR with potential 1st round grades based on what I have read. How many WR go 1st round each year on average each year and where is Thomas on that say 8 WR list with potential 1st round grades. Harrison from Ohio State, Nabers from LSU, Odunze from UW, Coleman from FSU, Mitchell from Texas, Legette from SCAR, etc.

I guess " Forever LSU" still means something.

When they get their grade from the NFL, does that grade take into account the current class?

Look, if that's what happened then I owe Nabers an apology. But, damn if BK took our best player out of the game like that then I have other questions.
If you are questioning Kelly for sitting out Nabers, I don't think you understand how this all works, and nobody is going to help you understand.

The bowl game is meaningless. It's nice to get a W, it's nice to be 10-3 instead of 9-4. But it doesn't mean much of anything in the grand scheme.

But recruits see and hear what happens. They see that Nabers and Daniels came to LSU, Nabers developed and Daniels improved his game. Both will be 1st rd picks in the NFL draft, which is something all recruits dream of. Nabers played in the bowl to reach the last achievable milestone (another alltime LSU record), and then Kelly said enough, you don't need to prove anything, and you don't need to risk your future so LSU can finish 12th instead of 20th.
They want to go play for a coach who sees their side too, instead of just "I need every W to hit my bonus clauses".

And it worked out for everyone involved. Daniels didn't get hurt or look bad, no effect on his stock. Nuss played and looked good, improving his prospects for next year. Nabers got his record. Thomas played a 2nd half as the #1 WR option, caught 2 TDs including the go-ahead/game winner, and drew a big PI penalty. Literally no downside for anyone involved.

He broke the record, then at halftime Kelly told him to let the other WRs take it from there as to not risk injury ahead of the NFL Draft - where he's projected as one of the first WRs taken in Round 1.

"He fought me a little bit on it," Kelly said. "I think he’s the best receiver in the country. And he played in this game. He wanted to do it for his teammates. He wanted to do it for LSU. He wanted to do it to break the record. And I think that’s great."

I love this to a point

but if this is case, why didn't he ask for #11 to sit out 2nd half as well?

He will be a high draft pick as well

Even if people thought Malik made the decision himself, don’t blame the player. Blame the system. He had very little reason to play at all. That’s just the reality.

The Jaylon Smith injury rightfully changed the thinking on the importance of non-playoff Bowl games for draft eligible players (specifically those who are so high they can't really improve their stock). Those games should be more of a springboard for next season anyway.
Jaylon Smith's coach when he got injured, Brian Kelly.

There's no reason to mandate holding out Malik against his will but not Brian Thomas Jr. It's comical.

Nabors is a guaranteed 1st rounder. BJT is not at this time. maybe he wanted to improve his draft status by playing and showing he's a great receiver no matter who is throwing the ball. I don't care if BK held Nabors out or if Nabors made the decision himself. It was a win/win/win for everyone.

I follow the NFL draft closely. There are always about 35-40 guys with NFL grades, but all those will not go 1st round. It might be which team is drafting at what spot and what needs they have?

I think there are QB's that are coming back for 2024 because the 2024 draft has maybe 4 1st round guys at QB already, Williams-USC, Maye-UNC, Daniels-LSU and Penix UW. Guys like Ewers, Dart, if 2 of those other guys are not in the draft for 2024, they probably go this year.

If that's the truth, then why did he risk BTJ's future?

Thomas is arguably a top 3 receiver in the country.

hope all the figs who were calling him out after halftime are reading this. I doubt they will though.
are people doing this? God, I was impressed to see him at all. I’m todays day and age, with a guaranteed first round draft at stake, it showed a great attitude

And Kelly should have sat him. It was time

We shall see. The guy has all the measurables plus great hands, gets good yards after the catch, has a terrific attitude, runs good routes, gets open, and blocks his arse off downfield. He is the prototype for a NFL receiver.
