Kelly says he prevented Malik from playing the second half

He broke the record, then at halftime Kelly told him to let the other WRs take it from there as to not risk injury ahead of the NFL Draft - where he's projected as one of the first WRs taken in Round 1.
"He fought me a little bit on it," Kelly said. "I think he’s the best receiver in the country. And he played in this game. He wanted to do it for his teammates. He wanted to do it for LSU. He wanted to do it to break the record. And I think that’s great."

Y’all really believe this? Y’all don’t think Kelly knows, statistically speaking, there’s virtually no chance of nabers getting hurt? This is just Kelly taking any possible heat off of Nabers. This is just the way things are now. Bowl games are not a big deal anymore and will be even less of a big deal as time moves forward.

It doesn’t matter if this is true or not. Either way it is a good move by Kelly by protecting either the health or people’s uneducated judgement of a player to help draft stock.
Malik 100% should’ve sat out once he got the record, he earned it and 1st round draft prospects should generally sit out in my humble opinion if it isn’t the playoffs.
