Kindle Vs Paperback

I don't think there's anything that can compare to a classic paperback. Hell how exciting was it when the Sunday paper was ACTUALLY thick? It came with all the fun adds and coupons. Of course there was nothing like visiting your local bookstore like Barnes and Noble for hours looking for that new book. That being said, once I got a Kindle? Talk about a game changer!I personally miss the Kindle keyboard. So folks, what do you say? Kindle or Paperback?

I’m old school I guess. I like to be holding the book
Plus with work and then at home, I spend too much time on screens as it is.
So I cut down on that with the hard copies of books

I'm in my mid 30s. It took me years to open up to kindle books, much less audiobooks. But now I enjoy all 3. I went from having only physical book to a physical book, a kindle book, and an audiobook. And it felt natural for me. I try to keep different topics if I'm doing all 3 at once, but I'd have never read 100 books this year if I didn't embrace them all

Kindle and Libby app accessed through our library. The convenience of the kindle trumps a book for me now, especially when travelling. I do like holding and flipping through a book though.
We have several hundred books in our den library and occasionally I'll pull one of them out to read or if there is a title not available thru Libby, I'll get the physical book from the library if it's available.
Never done an audio book, not sure I'd have the concertation to listen while doing something else.

Hardback is always my preferred format.

If you read and travel a lot, it's hard to beat the kindle app on your phone and kindle unlimited for books

I love my Kindle Paperwhite. Can get a ton of books from the library through Libby. KindleUnlimited also tends to pay for itself.
If I really like a book that I know I’m going to reread I’ll get it in paperback.

I love the kindle app. I can read in the dark, and absolutely anywhere.

I'm exclusively Kindle for a while now. It's just too convenient when it comes to storing books if you read tons of books. Particularly if you read a bunch while traveling.
Reading on paper is a better experience, but the Kindle convenience won out for me eventually.

I read the Kindle more than paperbacks or hardcovers these days. So convenient and my bookshelves are overflowing now.
However, certain books I much prefer the hard copy. For example a book on WW2 Tiger tanks, I like the hard copy because of the pictures. Also, reference books on firearms, etc.

I like both for various reasons.
I like the convenience of being able to read my kindle in the dark. The portability and the connection to my library through Libby is great too.
I do love the smell of a book though. I like to physically see/feel my progress in a book too.

I stare at a computer screen for 8+ hours a day. Last thing I want to do on my down time is stare at another screen. Real books all the way.

I do about half and half these days. I don't really read mass-market paperbacks anymore because the print is so small but I do still read trade paperbacks and hardcover books.
I would never read a book on a computer/phone/tablet screen but the modern e-readers such as the Kindle Paperwhite are quite different. It feels like reading a real page and actually has some advantages over a real page.

Hardback. I'll buy a paperback if it's a new author or a new book I don't know I'll like. If it's a book I like, I will almost always buy it in hardback and try to buy the earliest edition possible. I like having a full bookshelf/adding books to my collection.
Started doing some audio books last year but I don't really consider that reading if I'm being honest. I was oddly opposed to audio books for no good reason other than I thought it was just cheating/lazy. Which was a pretty ridiculous take. I've come around on them and do enjoy them and listened to audiobooks probably as much as I did music last year while in my truck. Definitely prefer reading to listening, but I'm glad I got over my hard headed refusal to listen to them stage.

I do too. Reading on a Kindle is nothing like staring at a screen.

I do all my "pleasure" reading on Kindle, and it honestly was a game changer for me. Being able to instantly access my next book (especially because I read a lot of series) is awesome.
For work and self-help/leadership type books, I prefer a physical copy. I like to write in the margins and usually sit down and take notes while I'm reading those types of books.

I used to only do physical copies, but I read so much that it just became clutter. Got a Kindle Paperwhite and didn't look back.
