The whole world would be Epstein Island without Christianity.

Yes. A significant number of them were Christians. Many were Arian Christians too.

Many of the Germanic tribes that began to assault the outskirts of the Roman Empire in the third and fourth centuries were decidedly pagan. They began being converted to Christianity in the mid to late fourth century at a time when Arianism was running rampant.

Read what I’ve posted, and stop ascribing what you think my beliefs are to me. You somehow think I’ve insulted Christianity or something when all I’ve said in this thread is that Christianity didn’t invent morality. That’s it. Nothing more or less.
my apologies, I mistakenly assumed the OP’s ridiculous assertion about ‘losing 1000 years of scientific achievement’ because of Christianity was yours

I’m perfectly capable of considering alternative historical interpretations of the origins of Jewish and Christian beliefs, whether or not i completely agree with them

i would hope you would entertain the possibility that those interpretations on which you base your own personal beliefs may be incorrect

again, i hope you enjoy your winter break

Very prevalent during Pagan times.

Also still prevalent in the catholic and I'm sure other churches today. As well as our own federal government.

Pedophilia isn't just prevalent in churches but in the world at large. However, what separates Christianity from other organizations throughout history is the fact that the practice was condemned by the Church from the very beginning. Yes, there are still people who do it. However, murder has been condemned by all cultures since time immemorial and yet we as a species continue to kill our fellow man by the score every single day.

Congratulations on winning the "Largest Amount of bullshite in One Thread" Award for 2023.

If you want to claim December 25th is not the known date of Jesus' birth that is one thing. But the claim the date was "stolen" from pagan rituals is complete BS.

The main reason there wasn't early mentions fo the date of Chirst's birth has more to do with birthdays really didn't matter to early Christians as much as the day someone died. That was the date they passed into Heaven and matters much more.

Didn’t happen. Constantine legalized Christianity. Emperor Theodosius made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. But don’t let facts get in the way of your nonsense.

Romans 2:14–16 (ESV): 14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

No, it’s one that makes you feel bad about yourself. You’re coping.

Constantine also wasn't even baptized a Christian until he was on his death bed.

Yes

This very political event by emperor Constantine would have long lasting effects on Western Civilization.

Agree

Europe lost over 1000 years of scientific progress due to folks not being allowed to question the Bible. We’d probably have flying cars right now if the west would have remained pagan.

This is where you went off the rails.

The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. You’re mad at the wrong person. My sister died of cancer several years ago. I understand your pain, and I don’t have an answer why He allows such things. But I do know that thru it all I trust Him.
