This thread is stupid. The question is fair, but the melting is stupid. The way we turn on players and coaches as soon as they leave says a lot about the posters. Melt away!

Denbrock was good here. Good for him to earn a big payday. I hope his replacement is both a good play caller and a good recruiter. I hope we keep Sloan as QB coach unless Kelly thinks he is ready for the OC spot.

Goodness gracious NEAUX
Without JD5 he was just another OC in college football.
Nothing special at all.

Well, if BK and LSU had hired Denbrock away from a P5 program that just finished in top 5 in the nation in most offensive categories and the Heisman winner LSU fans would say yes it’s worth the $9M.

Since he left us I guess it’s not.

LOL...without JD5 and Nabors/Thomas
Denbrock is probably fired
Anyone that believes is responsible for any of those broken play scrambles for 1st downs and TD's knows nothing about football. Without those three, and mostly JD5, I doubt LSU has a winning record.

A great QB can make a really average coach look like a genius.

He orchestrated the #1 offense in college football and his qb won the Heisman. He is a proven play caller and his offenses are tough to stop. That means he is currently the best offensive coordinator in college football. So yes he is worth $9 million guaranteed to notre Dame

Notre Dame hasn’t won a Championship in 35 years. They are desperate. I don’t think Denbrock will be working with the same level of athlete at the skill positions.

He needs to give at least half to JD5 and the rest to Nabers & Co. Then in second year keep whatever they give him

JD5 would make me a pretty below average coordinator. And I sell things for a living. Denbrock is solid. We can find another solid OC.

Agreed. He’s earned $2.5 million per year. You know you aren’t firing him until after his third year, so that would be a $1.5 million payout. So what!

Thanks to Denbrock for his time at LSU, but we'll be OK now that he's gone.
Miracle Worker Joe (Sloan) should be able to step right in and run the Offense seamlessly with Nussmeier and Swann, using all the same terminology.

It shouldn't be a problem being able to call the plays at this point in his career. (He was OC at LA Tech)

It will be more traditional "QB Passing and RB's running" oriented without the QB doing everything......
