WOW, can't imagine him not having dental insurance.
What is the meaning of dental caries?
Dental caries (tooth decay) is a chronic disease that results from the activity of bacterial biofilm on a tooth surface that is exposed to fermentable carbohydrate substrates over time, leading to demineralization and eventually cavitation.
What are retained dental roots?
Retained dental roots arise most commonly due to prior dental extraction procedures, during which they are intentionally or unintentionally left behind. They can also arise from facial trauma that results in dental fractures.

quote:
The Medical Examiner's Office has not released the full autopsy results but did share that the football star died from "bacterial sepsis with cerebral abscesses and necrotizing lobar pneumonia due to multiple dental caries and retained dental roots."
Sepsis is a life-threatening bodily reaction to an infection, which without rapid treatment can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death. Although most sepsis results from bacterial infections, viruses can result in sepsis as well.
In Williams's case, oral bacteria due to poor dental hygiene was the cause of the sepsis infection, according to the information shared by the medical examiner.

Not only does the nfl force them to play against their will but they won’t even let them get their teeth fixed
Can’t believe y’all still watch

Getting hit in the head on a construction site then developing sepsis from tooth decay. Yikes.
I can. Going from an NFL contract to construction worker points toward bad decision making.

When folks say "I'm glad I wasn't born 150 years ago because you could have died from an abscessed tooth then." this is precisely what they mean.
RIP to him.
RIP to him.

A fricking multi-millionaire doesn’t even have the due diligence to simply brush his teeth for 1-2 minutes at least twice a day. What has this world come to?

First known case of this in the US in 40 years, that’s crazy rare….and at 36 too

The former wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was taken off life support on Sept. 12 and died at the age of 36 after suffering a head injury during a construction accident in Aug. The injury led to acute hypoxic respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and multiple brain abscesses.

I dont' claim to be all that smart, but which was it?

He went from the NFL to construction work, so that's probably not the case anymore.

This is why you should periodically see your dentist. I know several on this board like to brag about not having been to the dentist in years when a dental/thooth thread is started.

It seems pretty clear that the injury was caused by the construction accident and the infection was caused by the oral bacteria.

That’s not very clear at all.
So he was hit in the mouth during the construction accident and that caused the infection to spread and kill him?

If you have ever spoken to any former nfl players or friends with them, ask them about the shady side of the nfl.
The nfl fricks over like 98% of the players.
The ones that generate revenue can get away with murder but the normal players get shite on
