Bayou Rouge Baptist Church
Evergreen, La
about 180 years old and on the National Historic Monument list
I'll take a small country church over those and the other mega churches today

I love those random black churches in middle of nowhere in the delta that you think are abandoned but will be packed out every Sunday

Not in US, but there is something equally ominous and fascinating about the Cologne Cathedral.

Also not in the US but I think the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Puerto Vallarta is awe-inspiring.
Thank you OP for an uplifting topic.

I know it would be expensive, but man, that needs a good scrubbing

I don't even think St. Louis is the most breath taking in the city, let alone state

It is incredible that the Bolsheviks didn't demolish this church when they took over.

In Alabama, beautiful ornate cathedrals are out. Mute box buildings with tv screens are in.

Not a state, but D.C. has a pretty nice one:
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception:

Agreed.
St Stephen is my personal favorite in the city.

St Louis looks cartoonish and cheap inside.
