He'll never be another "Damiels".

Did O'Dowd hit the portal? Otherwise, only 1 LSU QB has transferred this year.
I assume he’s talking about George Hamsley and Tavion Faulk. Both were walk ons, and Tavion Faulk wasn’t even listed on the roster this year.

Looks like a poor man's Jayden with a slower release.
So Jayden when he transferred? I’ll take it.

That's why we have Sloan ramrod

Ah yes, forgot about Faulk. He wasn't listed on the roster. Hamsley was a preffered walk on.

Many on this board bitched about BK signing Daniels. Then many on this board bitched b/c Brennan 'retired' and Daniels was the starter in 2022. Then they bitched b/c he never got benched last year. Then they bitched b/c he came back. Then they bitched b/c they wanted Nuss starting at the beginning of the season. Then they bitched a few games into the season calling for Nuss to start. Now they are going to watch JD take home the Heisman in 2 days. So yeah... this place is filled with idiots.

He already mentioned that NC St. told him to look elsewhere, as they were going in a different direction.

He wanted to stay with NC State but coaches told him they were moving in a different direction; he was not going to be their starter. Basically, pushing him out to portal.

top performing QBs this year they would see most of them were transfers.
And all had the ability to RUN the ball for those critical 3rd down scenarios. I hate to say it but I don't think Nuss can run to the 'Daniels/Milroe' level that is required against today's fast defenses. The Staff knows this and they just have to finesse it.

we need a backup, but is this the one?

Then why come to to a message board titled Rant when you know it's full of opinions?
Just listen to the coach's press conference, shows, interviews and form your own opinion.

That didn't have anything to do with what I said.

Tevion Faulk
George Hamsley

I doubt he is transferring with no hope to compete for the starting job. But I don't think this is a Burrow/Daniels situation where (1) you have a multi-year QB who is absolutely looking for a place where he is guaranteed to start and (2) a team in LSU absolutely looking to land a starting QB.
Even if BK has long decided Nussmeier is the starter for 2024, it was always likely LSU was going to look for a transfer this cycle for depth purposes. Right now all you have behind Nuss is Collins (little to no experience and somewhat of a last minute take anyway) and Hurley, a very young QB with no experience who was always thought to be more of a developmental prospect.
Whereas you knew (or at least anyone with the ability to think logically) when LSU took Burrow and Daniels they were bringing in their starting QB, this is a different situation.

Great idea. Gives someone for Nuss to compete with and some depth between him and the Freshmen.

We are shopping around. It looks like we are going for depth rather than an actual QB competition. They must have faith in Nuss to run the offense.

He’s pretty good. And being what Jayden Daniels turned into, I’m not going to criticize the decision.

Get the best quarterback you can get to come here and let the chips fall where they may.
frick this “let’s get a guy only good enough to be the backup so we don’t offend Nuss” bullshite.

Why would any of you doubt this offensive staff and their decisions? If Les was coach it would make sense to have doubts. But Kelly and Denbrock know what they're doing and looking for.
