Those who did that should lose all credibility and whatever credentials they hold.

Everyone that has a vote should be required to give reasoning to their answer or the shouldn’t have a vote.
Period, or it’s just another corrupt system out there like the “Committee”.

Jayden SHOULD at worst get 2nd place votes. But the west coast voters are braindead and are going to put him 3rd on theirs or outright leave him off with intent to help Penix and Nix. Its so stupid

JD will likely win it but I wouldn't be surprised if he's left off 100 ballots.

"Has there ever been a Heisman winner that did not have the most 1st place votes ?"

They didn't start having points allocated for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place votes until 1995.

The answer is no - but in 2009, winner. Mark Ingram received only 5 more 1st place votes than runner-up Toby Gerhart, 227 to 222.

Ingram won the Heisman by 28 points.

You aren't wrong, but regional bias is real. Big 10 voters are going to do big 10 things.

3 different Ohio State players received 1st place votes over Joe Burrow in 2019.
Fields (3rd)
Chase Young (4th)
JK Dobbins (6th)

This is how you know the world is composed - at least in part - of pure frickery.

Those 42 should lose their vote. That’s just spiteful,

Acting like you’re some expert telling us how it works & then you throw out this BS

As others have said, Joe Burrow, the most unanimous winner in Heisman history, wasn't in the top 3 of some ballots.

The ACC voting block may be to the detriment of Jayden because of the CFP decision on Bama, just got a feeling something is not gonna be legit with final tally

So he wasn't a unanimous winner.

None of the 42 who left the best player in college football off their ballot should ever be allowed to vote again. Everyone should have a right to voice their own opinion but when that opinion indicates you have no idea how to judge and evaluate the criteria that leads to that opinion, you need to go.

The Athletic did a straw poll of actual Heisman voters last week before the conference championship games.

Jayden and Nix had the same amount of first place votes (16 each), but Nix had the most points because Nix had twice as many 2nd place votes as Jayden (10 to 5) and Jayden had twice as many 3rd place votes as Nix (10 to 5).

This makes me believe there are West Coast voters who will put Penix and Nix 1st and 2nd, and will place Jayden at 3rd. Hopefully, this is a small percentage of the voters.

I think after the games last weekend Jayden will get more first place votes than anyone else and it should be enough to overcome the ballots that have him at 3rd.

They did another straw poll after last weekend. Jayden has a commanding lead.

Why do people in the media, most of which have never played CFB, have more of a say who wins this award than the actual players who have won it in the past?

Anyone that left him off their ballot entirely should have been stripped of there vote going forward.

Great summary, but I think there might be some voters, specifically in the PAC 12, that will intentionally hurt JD5s chances.

I could see them doing 1/2 with Penix/Nix and then 3 with someone else.

That could work both ways maybe people in the south and midwest leave Nix and Penix off completely

Happy to see this. Makes me feel better. That initial one had me worried.
