strength and conditioning coach David Feeley has decided not to accept Elko's offer to join him at Texas A&M.
quote:
Kevin Johns will be considered for the A&M offensive coordinator position, but Elko also has worked to target numerous offensive play-callers around the sport.
quote:
Tyler Santucci, widely considered one of the top up-and-coming defensive minds in college football, will not accompany Elko to College Station.
quote:
A&M interim head coach Elijah Robinson has been offered a meaningful position by Elko; but he continues to evaluate an opportunity to join Fran Brown's staff at Syracuse as well as other options.

From the outside looking in Santucci news is somewhat surprising.

Maybe he doesn't like College Station. He's certainly spent some time there.

I wonder if it’s an ERob or Santucci kinda situation. I’ve got to imagine neither wants to be a Co-DC

What kind of offense does Johns run?

I think this is it. No way would I trust ERob with sole control of DC though… either be a CO-DC with Santucci or have Elko supervise/overrule him.

Would be hard to believe he would accept something like that, when he can go to other places and have the keys to the defense.
Have to wonder how much of a power struggle that would create too.

Durham is nicer than college station.

Yeah that power dynamic would be bad imo… especially since many including players wanted ERob as HC. First sign of trouble for Elko, ERob could stage a coup haha like Ed O did against Les Miles. I dont think Elko could take the risk to allow a guy who hasnt been a DC before to call SEC games solely on his own. Fran has that cushion to allow him at Syracuse where stakes are much lower.

This.
Most at A&M didn’t like Santucci because he failed at recruiting linebackers. Finished 2nd a lot. Warranted or not.

They also have female cheerleaders

Do y’all just ignore the fact that A&M has a cheerleading team? I understand that doesn’t fit the narrative and all.
Posted on 12/2/23 at 5:45 pm to Mr Sausage
Well the certainly seem to feature those weird milkmen a lot more than any female cheerleaders

Probably wants his career to continue going up, not down.

We fully recognize that A&M has an all man cheerleading team. It's the gayest thing in all of sports.

Understandable, it’s a small step up from Lubbock

Linebackers were trash when he was in charge of them at A&M
