Watching the Chiefs game reminded me of it.

Was that the game Cam Cameron coached from the sidelines instead of up in the booth and we were all excited that Harris had turned a corner and then he showed up in the Wisconsin game at Lambeau and looked like it was first time playing football?

I remember walking out of NRG (think it was still reliant back then) and a drunk 40 something Tech housewife was yelling “our quarterback is better”.

I was like, yes. Yes he is.

Then the lobby and bar at the team hotel was packed late that night.

Good times

Dude, I’m old enough to remember when we were genuinely excited to make it to Shreveport for the Indy Bowl. True story.

I would prefer to remember when we actually had a defense and we made Lamar Jackson look like a bum. 10-27 for only 153 passing, and 26 rushes for 33 yards.

God those were some awful QB years. Hatch, Jennings, Harris...who was that other terrible one?

That was before most of the world knew about Mahomes

After watching that game I knew he was going to be good

I'm old enough to remember when making a bowl game meant something. We were a top 15 team last time we played in the Independence Bowl. But there were only 20 bowl games in 1997.

Member when Anthony Jennings was annointed tONE after his hail mary TD throw in the final seconds against Arkansas in 2013?

Oh, how far we have come.

quote:

In the final regular-season game at Tiger Stadium in 2013, LSU got a glimpse of its quarterback of the future earlier than expected.

Senior Tiger quarterback Zach Mettenberger left the game midway through the fourth quarter with a knee injury and watched on crutches on the sideline, as LSU fans got a taste of what's to come.

True freshman Anthony Jennings from Marietta, Ga., entered the game and led LSU on a sizzling 99-yard, game-winning drive in 1:49 to topple Arkansas 31-27 and give the Tigers offense some hope for the future.

That drive culminated with a 49-yard touchdown pass from Jennings to fellow freshman Travin Dural with 1:15 to play.

Pretty crazy to think we beat Mahomes and Lamar Jackson in consecutive years. Then Hurts and Tua a few years later. The best QBs in the nfl all either played for lsu or got beaten at some point by lsu

DJ Chark’s coming out party. Took a reverse 80 yards to the house on his first ever touch. Of course Les waited until the bowl game to even think about playing him even though our offense sucked
