I see you've abandoned the definition you originally posted after I pointed out that canceling includes de-platforming and the removal of power.
What are you talking about?
The first definition I posted in this thread literally comes from this website.

The words power and de-platform don't appear on that page at all

You dont cancel people if they retain their job or their power.

Imagine running a company which has lost half its value over the past 12 months, falling to penny stock status, then knit picking over a podcast with Robert Kennedy.

But didn't Dana White and UFC recently do some big deal with Bud Light?
Hypocrites do hypocrite things
What he did is the exact opposite of hypocrisy. He doesn't want sponsors strong arming him for his stances and he's willing to work with sponsors regardless of theirs.

i imagine the first has something to do with the second. his company is in financial trouble and his financial/political overlords are using that as leverage against him to do their bidding.

he knows damn what what cancel culture is and isnt
I sure do, and I agree with Dana White that it's dumb people care more about 1 out of 2,500 "influencer" cans they gave out than all the good things they have done for our military vets. People that partake in cancel culture are irrational babies tho so it checks out.

A lot of 50 year old ladies that pretend to exercise on Peloton don't like this. The rest of us don't care.

I apologize. I googled your quote and it took me to dictionary.com. However, your quote from Webster:
quote:
the mass withdrawal of support from public figures or celebrities who have done things that aren't socially accepted today.
is not dissimilar from the quote from Dictionary.com, no?
quote:
Cancel culture refers to the popular practice of withdrawing support for (canceling) public figures and companies after they have done or said something considered objectionable or offensive.
But as I stated in my previous post that you never responded to, it goes on to say:
quote:
Usually public figures are said to be canceled after it has been discovered that they have done something offensive. It involves calling out the bad behavior, boycotting their work (such as by not watching their movies or listening to their music), and trying to take away their public platform and power. This is often done in a performative way on social media.
To try to say that the bolded part has nothing to do with canceling because your definition failed to elaborate, is disingenuous.

the best part is when it gets exposed that the Woke, Barry, CEO of Peloton... laid off thousands of employees in 2020....
that guy got fired, Barry replace him in '22

All you gym peeps don't forget to pass up those Precor treadmills and machines as Peloton owns Precor.

Nothing the right loves more than canceling companies and people....

Peleton needs to stick with making treadmills that don't kill folks. Horribly run business. Bad times ahead for them.

This is such a ridiculous, snowflake attitude. If I want something, I don’t give a shite about the seller’s feelings.
I’ll buy that hotdog if I’m hungry regardless if the cook is a dick.

I got a good chuckle out of Dana White calling someone a pompous arrogant douchbag

Exactly. I'm only here a short while.
I can hate everything that the strip club owner stands for, but still go inside and enjoy looking at some tits and having an overpriced drink
